𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿🛡️

One of the primary images of God in the Old Testament is that of God as Warrior. All throughout Scripture, God is frequently going to battle for His people or standing with them in the midst of difficulty—protecting them from harm.

Scripture tells us that God does not idly stand aside and watch His children fight alone. He's a warrior—our Warrior—who's actively protecting His people.

This is why the writer of Psalm 3 calls God a Shield that surrounds him. God is not distant—He is present and active in our lives. Even though we may experience pain and suffering, we can go to God for help and safety. He knows how to protect us, and fight for us.

The writer of this Psalm also says that God is the One who lifts our heads in the midst of difficulty. It can be easy to become discouraged or tired in the middle of hard times. But even in those moments, God supports us.

When we come to God as our Shield, He not only protects us, but He also gives us hope and peace. He restores the parts of us that are tired and burned out. God gives us a reason to continue to fight with hope.

If you’re in a season where you feel like you've lost hope, or you’re simply discouraged and tired, spend some time praying. Ask God to be your Shield in this difficult time. Pray for Him to restore your joy and hope, and to lift your head, as you continue to follow Him.

Want a Clean Heart? ❤️‍🩹

King David made some great decisions, but he also made some terrible ones...

During his reign, David chose to abuse his power by taking the wife of one of his military leaders, and then arranging for him to die in battle. For someone who was considered “a man after God’s own heart,” David really messed up.

In 2 Samuel 12:13 we see David confess his sin against the Lord. And in Psalm 51, we see his prayer to be made new:

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Psalm 51:10 ESV

David failed, but God redeems. God restores. David still had to face the consequences of his decisions, but in that journey, God met him there.

If you want to be made new by God but believe that your past is too messed up, you can follow the path David showed us: confess, repent, and ask God to make you new. You can even use David’s exact words as you pray... "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."

When we seek God, we realize that He’s already been seeking us.

God is faithful. He loves you. He can make your heart clean. In Him, you can become a new creation.

When my friend Pete was in Mali, West Africa, he was in a traffic accident. A man had wandered into the road in front of Pete’s bike. The bike hit the man and sent Pete and the bike crashing into the ground. Shortly after Pete woke up in the hospital, his doctor told him he had been “really lucky”. Pete smiled and replied, “God is good.”

Later he thought about the day’s events. The man who was hit hadn’t received any bad injuries, and Pete would also get better. But what if one of them had been more seriously hurt? He thought, God would be no less good.

When we go through pain or loss, we may wonder about God’s goodness. Is God always good? Yes, He is. He doesn’t promise that bad things will never happen to us, but He does promise to be “our refuge and strength” (Ps. 46:1). He doesn’t promise that we will never walk through difficult times, but He promises that we won’t be alone (23:4).

God is good—no matter what suffering we are facing. Even when we don’t understand, we can say with Habakkuk, “I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior” (Hab. 3:18).

Live Your True Identity

Everything you need to be beautiful, successful, incredible, blessed, trusted, respected, honored, and happy are already in your life. It may not seem like it, but only because you’re focusing on the wrong things. Anything birthed prematurely risks complications. The complications you’ve faced that made you stop believing are simply things that you gave birth to too soon. Still, God was kind enough to teach you a lesson from that journey that made you better for His use.

When you start to find your true identity, people will still be looking for glimpses of the old you. Some will be unsuccessful; others will be content with learning the new and improved you. Have a memorial service for those who want to hold you to your mistakes and poor decisions. If that’s all they choose to see, then they shouldn’t be granted access to the blessing that is your journey. They aren’t evil. They’re broken. You don’t have to let them break you too, though. You don’t have to lose yourself trying to save them. Be strong enough to choose you.

Heard about 1 Corinthians 13? 🤔

More than 1 person has hailed 1 Corinthians 13 as the finest chapter in the Bible. Now I challenge you to replace the world 'love' in this passage with your name. 😉

~ Fatima is patient. Fatima is kind. Fatima does not envy, she does not boast, she is not proud. Fatima is not rude, she is not self-seeking, she is not easily angered, she keeps no records of wrongs. Fatima does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Fatima always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Fatima never fails. ~

Wait! Hold on! Those words are false. Fatima is not patient. Fatima is not kind. Fatima does envy and so on and so fort. I can't be as perfect as being like that no matter how hard I try. It set a standard I could not meet. No one can meet it. No one, that is, except Jesus. 🤗

Does this passage not describe the measureless love of God? Let's insert Christ's name in place of the word 'love', and see if it rings true:

~ Jesus is patient. Jesus is kind. Jesus does not envy, He does not boast, He is not proud. Jesus is not rude, He is not self-seeking, He is not easily angered, He keeps no records of wrongs. Jesus does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Jesus always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Jesus never fails. ~

INDEED!! Jesus is LOVE! GOD is LOVE! 🤗☝💓 Let this scripture remind us of a love we cannot produce, let it remind us of a love we cannot resist -- GOD'S LOVE. ❤

Some of you are so thirsty for this type of love. Those who should have love you didn't. Those who could have loved you didn't. You were left at the hospital. Left at the altar. Left with an empty bed. Left with a broken heart. Left with rivers of tears. LEFT WITH YOUR QUESTION "DOES ANYBODY LOVE ME?"

Please listen to heaven's answer: GOD LOVES YOU. PERSONALLY. POWERFULLY. PASSIONATELY. Others have promised and failed. But God promised and succeeded. HE LOVES YOU WITH AN UNFAILING LOVE. AND HIS LOVE? IF YOU WILL LET IT? IT CAN FILL YOU AND LEAVE YOU WITH A LOVE WORTH GIVING. 💝

So come! Come thirsty and drink deeply. 😇☝❤

What is happening to the world right now is not easy. Many systems were affected, the likes of education, transportation, health, work, government, social life, and even churches, all were changed in a snap of a finger. The change that happened was so quick that made us go panicked and that all of a sudden the things we used to do is no longer allowed. We felt we are contained and we became uncomfortable because we are supposed to be free. In this time, the enemy is not the virus as we know it, but it is us.

How long can we keep our discipline? How long can we stay sane? You see people were only seeing the bad side of this, but if we can only flip the side of this coin and see that this is also an opportunity and not just a problem, we will not grow weary and we heal faster.

I believe that God has put us in this situation not to be contained but to be free. Who are you without your education? Your career? Work? When you take all the things that is keeping you busy from a very long time, you will unravel who you truly are. We should not waste the time that God has given us to repent and ponder on our lives because it is His mercy that is keeping us alive now.

Are you really living or are you just caught up by the systems of this world and just merely existing because of that busyness? If we can only see through the eyes of faith, we see God is fixing what we destroyed, our life. Death is not the end and we know that. The question for us is that how long can we keep our eyes close and ears deaf?

The pandemic for me is just God’s megaphone that there is more to life than here and now, and if we can’t change our hearts, we will missed what life on earth truly is.
