Sharing Hope Online

Daily Verse: “And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Mark 16:15 ESV

Daily Devo: Isa sa mga mainit na usapin ngayon sa Pilipinas ay kung paano mapoprotektahan ang mga bata sa social media. Understandably, maraming parents ang nag-aalala sa mga nakikita at na-e-experience ng kanilang mga anak online.

Pero habang pinag-uusapan natin ang dangers ng internet, may isa ring tanong na dapat nating itanong sa sarili natin: How are we using the social media?

Kapag may nakakakita ng posts natin, mas nakikita ba nila ang fear, anger, at negativity o ang hope na matatagpuan kay Jesus?

In Mark 16:15, Jesus told His disciples to go into all the world and share the good news. Ang mission na ito ay hindi lang para sa mga original disciples—it is for every follower of Christ, including us today.
We now live in a world where almost everyone has a social media account. With just one post, message, or story, we can reach people we may never meet in person—including friends and family who live in other cities or even abroad.

What if God could use your social media account to bring someone one step closer to Him?
Maaaring hindi mo maabot ang libu-libong tao, pero baka ang isang verse na ibabahagi mo, ang isang encouraging message, o ang simpleng testimony mo ang maging sagot ng Diyos sa panalangin ng isang taong nawawalan na ng pag-asa. Our role is to use social media to share Christ; His role is to work in people's hearts.

Belonging in God's Family

Daily Verse: “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” Ephesians 2:19 ESV

Daily Devo: Through social media, you can edit your profile, choose what you want to post, and create an image of how you want others to perceive you.

Pero, sino ka kapag naka-off ang screen? Kapag wala nang likes, comments, o followers na nagpapatunay sa'yo, saan mo hinuhugot ang identity mo?

Sa isang mundong laging connected, madaling isipin na ang halaga natin ay nakabase sa kung paano tayo nakikita ng iba. Pero iba ang sinasabi ni God. In Ephesians 2:19, Paul reminds us that because of Jesus, we are no longer strangers or outsiders. We belong to the family of God.

Ang identity mo ay hindi nagsisimula sa profile picture, bio, or online reputation na nabuo mo. Nagsisimula ito sa katotohanang tinanggap ka ni God. You don’t need to establish a perfect image to be worthy of love or acceptance. Dahil kay God, meron ka nang permanenteng lugar at pagkakakilanlan.

As digital disciples, we’re not only called to represent a good image online. Tinatawag tayong mamuhay mula sa identity na ibinigay na sa atin ni Jesus. Once you already belong to God’s family, your identity is no longer defined by where you came from or how others see you. At mas lalong hindi mo na kailangang hanapin ang worth mo based on online approval.

So before you ask, "How do people see me online?" ask this instead: "Am I living from the identity God has already given me?"

Tandaan mo, your identity isn't found on your profile; it's found in belonging to God's family. Hindi ito isang bagay na kailangan mo i-achieve because it is something you’ve already received by grace.

Fear of Missing Out

Daily Verse: “Pagkat ang Panginoon Yahweh, pag-asa at sanggalang, pinagpapala niya kami ng kabutihan at karangalan. Hindi niya ipinagkakait ang mabuting gantimpala sa sinumang matuwid at marangal ang ginagawa.” Psalm 84:11 Pinoy Version

Daily Devo: Na-feel mo na ba yung parang naiiwan ka? Parang huli ka na? Parang sila umaandar na pero ikaw, stuck ka pa rin?

FOMO ang tawag diyan—Fear of Missing Out.

Marami sa mga young professionals ngayon ang nakakaranas nito, lalo na kapag pakiramdam nila ay stuck lang sila kung saan sila naroon ngayon. Ang hindi nila napapansin: may purpose pala itong paghihintay.

Sa halip na kumilos dahil sa takot na maiwan, tandaan na ang Diyos ay "sun and shield," at walang mabuting bagay na ipagkakait Niya sa mga lumalakad nang matuwid (Psalm 84:11). Ibig sabihin, kung hindi pa dumarating yung opportunity, hindi ibig sabihin na hindi na ito darating—baka hindi pa lang panahon, o baka may mas mabuti pang paparating na hindi mo pa nakikita.

Replace FOMO with another FOMO: Faith Over Missing Out. FOMO pushes you to chase what others have, but faith teaches you to wait on God's perfect timing. Hindi mo kailangang maunahan ang iba, dahil anumang mabuting bagay na inilaan ng Diyos para sa'yo, ibibigay Niya sa tamang panahon.

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞: “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Luke 16:10 ESV

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨: Totoo ba na mas nagiging matapang ang isang tao sa online? Have you ever posted something, then deleted it a few minutes later because you realized, "Ay, hindi ko naman sasabihin 'to kung kaharap ko yung tao."

If we're honest, sometimes it's easier to be kind in person than online. When you're face-to-face with someone, you're careful with your words. But in chats, comments, or social media, it's easy to get angry, judge others, or say things you wouldn't normally say in person.

Should there be an "offline version" of you and an "online version" of you?

Luke 16:10 reminds us that integrity is not just seen in big decisions; it's revealed in the small choices you make every day.

Integrity isn't measured by who is watching. It's revealed by who you are when no one is looking—including what you do and watch online. God desires us to live with the same character on screen as we do in person.

So, before you post, comment, or watch anything online, pause and ask yourself: "If Jesus saw my actions, would it show that I can be trusted?" Faithfulness in small things leads to greater trust. So be intentional with every click, because your online integrity reflects your true character.

Daily Verse: “Sikapin ninyong laging maging kaaya-aya at kapaki-pakinabang ang inyong pananalita sa kanila, at matuto kayong sumagot nang tama sa lahat ng tao." Colossians 4:6 Pinoy Version

Daily Devo: Every time na mag-scroll down tayo sa kahit anong trending post ngayon, siguradong makakakita tayo ng unsolicited and tactless comments.. Ang daling mag-iwan ng masasakit na komento kahit hindi naman natin alam ang buong istorya o kapag hindi natin kaharap ang kausap natin. Minsan, nakakalimutan nating lahat tayo’y may pinagdadaanan sa buhay.

Sa Colossians 4:6, pinaalalahanan ni Apostle Paul ang mga mananampalataya na maging mabait at mapagbiyaya sa kanilang pananalita, upang malaman nila kung paano sumagot nang tama sa bawat tao. Noong panahon nila, ito ay tungkol sa harapang pag-uusap. Ngunit ngayon, kasama na rin dito ang ating mga comments, replies, at messages sa social media.

Hindi madaling maging mabait online, lalo na kapag toxic ang environment. But here’s the good news: Jesus understands how hard it is to face hostility. Nang dumanas Siya ng panlalait, hindi Siya gumanti ng masakit. Instead, He showed us ultimate grace. Kapag hinayaan nating baguhin ni Jesus ang ating puso, mababago rin ang ating mga salita—kahit ang mga salitang tina-type natin sa ating keyboards at touchscreens.

Nawa’y bago tayo mag-type ng reply sa susunod na makIkita nating post, tayo’y huminga muna. Piliin nating magsalita nang may katotohanan at pagmamahal. Let’s make our social media feeds a safer, kinder place.

On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.” Exodus 20:8–10 ESV

Daily Devo: Have you ever heard of a detox? We usually think of cutting back on unhealthy food or sugary treats to help our bodies reset. But what if the thing that needs detoxing isn't your diet... but your screen time?

Technology is a wonderful gift, but when we're always connected, it's easy to forget that our hearts need rest too. We fill every quiet moment with another video, another post, or another notification, leaving little room to be still.

In Exodus 20:8–10, God invites His people to remember the Sabbath. God knew His people needed rest, not because they had finished everything, but because He lovingly cared for them. Today, we still receive the same invitation.

Rest isn't giving up. It's making room for God to restore you.

Sometimes, the most faithful thing you can do is pause. Put your phone down. Breathe deeply. Make space to enjoy God's presence, cherish the people around you, and notice the life He has graciously given you. Even if your days have been busy or your attention has wandered, God doesn't push you away. He gently invites you back to Himself.

A digital Sabbath isn't about rejecting technology—it's about giving your heart permission to slow down and remember the One who gives you life.

When Your Phone Owns You

Daily Verse: “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.” 1 Corinthians 6:12 ESV

Daily Devo: May tatlong bagay ba na hindi ka makakaalis ng bahay kapag naiwan mo? Malamang isa doon ang phone mo. Tama?

Naaalala mo pa ba noong isang phone lang ang meron sa buong bahay? Minsan nga, wala pa. Pero ngayon, halos bawat miyembro ng pamilya may sariling phone na. Hindi lang siya gamit sa pagtawag o pagte-text. Siya na rin ang alarm clock, camera, wallet, map, at source ng entertainment. Napakalaking tulong ng phone. Pero may tanong na kailangan nating sagutin: Tayo pa ba ang may hawak sa phone, o phone na ang humahawak sa atin?

Jesus didn't come to burden us with endless restrictions. Tinatawag Niya tayong mamuhay sa tunay na kalayaan. Ang kalayaang ibinibigay Niya ay hindi lang kalayaang gawin ang gusto natin, kundi kalayaang hindi alipinin ng anumang bagay.

Maraming tao ang naghahanap ng pahinga, saya, at acceptance sa endless scrolling. Pero ang mga iyon ay panandalian lang. Si Jesus lang ang kayang magbigay ng kapayapaan, layunin, at kasiyahang hindi nauubos.

Don't let your phone decide how your day begins—let Jesus do that.

Today, pay attention to how often you instinctively reach for your phone. Before unlocking it, pause for a few seconds and ask yourself: "Kailangan ko ba talaga ito ngayon, o habit lang ito?" Let that simple question remind you that you are free to choose—not controlled by your phone.

Daily Devo: Napansin mo ba, parang mas sanay na ang kamay nating abutin ang phone kaysa ang puso nating lumapit sa Diyos?

Sa dami ng notifications, reels, news, at endless scrolling, madaling maubos ang oras at atensyon natin online. Normal lang gumamit ng technology—malaking tulong ito sa pag-aaral, trabaho, at relasyon.

Pero may tanong tayong kailangang harapin: "Habang lagi tayong naghahanap ng sagot sa internet, hinahanap pa rin ba natin ang Diyos?"

Sa ating passage sa Jeremiah 29:13, hindi sinabi ng Diyos na mahahanap Siya kapag may natira tayong oras. Ang invitation Niya ay hanapin Siya nang buong puso.

Ang totoo, ang oras na inilalaan mo ay nagpapakita kung ano ang pinakamahalaga sa’yo.
Kung kaya mong gumugol ng isang oras sa pag-scroll, kakayanin mo rin maglaan ng ilang minuto para magbasa ng Bible at makipag-usap sa Diyos sa panalangin.

Hindi kayang ibigay ng internet ang kapayapaang tanging Diyos lang ang makapagbibigay.
Ang technology ay magandang kasangkapan, pero hindi ito dapat maging kapalit ng relasyon natin sa Diyos.

Bantayan ang digital heart mo, dahil doon nagsisimula ang direksiyon ng buhay.

Bago ka mag-click, mag-scroll, o mag-share, itanong mo muna:
“Ilalapit ba ako nito sa Diyos, o ilalayo ang puso at isip ko sa Kanya?”

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞: “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 ESV

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨: 1 Peter 5:7 is part of the apostle Peter's encouragement to believers who were facing suffering, persecution, and various hardships. In the verses surrounding it, Peter calls Christians to humble themselves before God and trust His care for them. This verse reminds believers that they do not have to carry their worries, fears, and burdens alone. It teaches that God is deeply concerned about His people and invites them to place every concern in His loving and capable hands.

Have you ever carried a sack of rice? At first, kaya pa. Hindi mo agad nararamdaman ang bigat. But as the minutes pass, your arms get tired, your shoulders start to ache, and every step becomes harder. Minsan, sa sobrang bigat, mapapabagsak mo na lang ito dahil hindi mo na kayang buhatin. Ganito rin ang nangyayari kapag sinusubukan mong dalhin mag-isa ang lahat ng iyong problema. You may think you're okay at first, but over time, the weight of worry, stress, and anxiety can wear you down. That's why God never intended for you to carry your burdens alone.

You don't need Mr. Universe or a weightlifting champion to carry your burdens—because they, too, have their burdens to carry, and theirs might even be heavier than yours. What you need is the Maker of the universe. Siya ang Diyos na hindi napapagod, hindi nauubusan ng lakas, at walang problemang mabigat para sa Kanya. Habang limitado ang kakayahan ng tao, walang imposible sa Diyos. So instead of carrying the weight all by yourself, why not place it in the hands of the One who created you, knows you, and cares deeply for you?

Leaning on Community

Monday, July 27

Daily Verse: “Magtulungan kayo sa mga problema nyo. Pag ginawa nyo yun, tinutupad nyo ang utos na binigay ni Christ” Galatians 6:2 Pinoy Version

Daily Devo: Ang Galatians 6:2 ay isinulat ni Apostle Paul para i-encourage ang mga Christians na mag-build ng isang supportive community. Sa verse na ito, ipinapaalala niya na we are called to carry each other’s burdens. Ibig sabihin, hindi tayo ginawa para kayanin ang lahat mag-isa. God designed us to help, listen, and care for one another, lalo na kapag mabigat na ang dinadala.

Madalas gusto nating maging strong at ayaw natin magpakita ng kahinaan. Nahihiya, takot makaabala, o feeling natin na dapat kaya natin mag-isa, maging strong at independent. Pero minsan, mas bumibigat lang ang load kapag sinasarili natin. This verse gently reminds us that God often works through people. A friend who listens, a family member who checks in, or a community that stays, lahat ito pwedeng way ng Diyos para ipaalala na hindi ka nag-iisa.

So today, allow yourself to lean on others. Hindi mo kailangang i-explain lahat or ayusin agad ang problema. Pwedeng magsimula sa small step, magmessage, mag-open up, o tumanggap ng tulong. And if you can, be there for someone too. Sometimes, just being present can be a significant source of support. Remember, God surrounds you with people because you were never meant to carry life alone.
