The San Salvador del Mundo Vicariate gathered at the San Nicolas de Tolentino Cathedral, Mati City, to venerate, honor, and express their profound devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe's grace-filled visit in the Diocese of Mati, August 1-4.

The Pilgrim image visit marks a significant celebration in the Novena Intercontinental Guadalupana, a global devotional journey from the years 2025-2031, in preparation for the 500th anniversary of the Marian Apparitions of the Catholic Church.

While Mary Guadalupe's pilgrimage commenced on June 13, devotees are encouraged to offer intentions and consecrate themselves beneath her loving mantle, as the pilgrim image will continue to journey towards different cathedrals and parishes in the Philippines until December 12 this year.

Notably, from December 9 to 12 in 1531, a glowing young woman appeared before Juan Diego in present-day Mexico City, identifying herself as Our Lady of Guadalupe.

This apparition was confirmed by Pope Benedict XIV through the Sacred Congregation of Rites in 1754, which granted permission to celebrate Mass and Office for Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12.
