Wednesday of the Twenty-first Week in Ordinary Time

Gospel
(Matthew 23:27-32)

Jesus said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of filth. Even so, on the outside you appear righteous,
but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You build the tombs of the prophets
and adorn the memorials of the righteous,
and you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors,
we would not have joined them in shedding the prophets’ blood.’
Thus you bear witness against yourselves
that you are the children of those who murdered the prophets;
now fill up what your ancestors measured out!”

Reflection:
Today's Gospel reminds us that God measures our faith by the purity of our hearts, not the polished image we project to the world. In our daily walk, true discipleship means cultivating inner honesty, love, and humility so that our outward actions naturally reflect genuine faith rather than superficial appearances.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Recollection Program will begin this coming September 2026. This spiritual activity is an opportunity for our students to take a moment of prayer, reflection, and renewal as they deepen their relationship with God and discover the value of faith, purpose, and personal growth.

SAINT OF THE DAY
St. Louis IX, King of France, Pray for Us!🙏

St. Louis IX (1214–1270) was the King of France known for his deep faith, wisdom, and compassion. Guided by his mother, Queen Blanche of Castile, he learned that true leadership is rooted in service to God and others.

As king, he promoted justice, cared for the poor, built churches and hospitals, and worked for peace. Despite his royal status, he lived with humility and devoted his life to serving Christ and his people.

He joined the Crusades and died in 1270 while on a mission of faith. He was canonized in 1297 and remains a model of a Christian leader who used his power with love, humility, and charity.

Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle

Gospel
(John 1:45-51)

Philip found Nathanael and told him,
"We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,
and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth."
But Nathanael said to him,
"Can anything good come from Nazareth?"
Philip said to him, "Come and see."
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
"Here is a true child of Israel.
There is no duplicity in him."
Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?"
Jesus answered and said to him,
"Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree."
Nathanael answered him,
"Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."
Jesus answered and said to him,
"Do you believe
because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
You will see greater things than this."
And he said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will see heaven opened and the angels of God
ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

SAINT OF THE DAY
St. Bartholomew the Apostle, Pray for Us!🙏

Saint Bartholomew, also known as Nathanael, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He came from Cana in Galilee and was introduced to Jesus by his friend Philip. At first, Nathanael wondered if anything good could come from Nazareth, but after meeting Jesus, he recognized Him as the Son of God and King of Israel.

Bartholomew faithfully followed Jesus and witnessed His preaching, miracles, Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension. After Pentecost, he went forth to proclaim the Gospel in distant lands, traditionally associated with India, Armenia, and other parts of the East.

According to Christian tradition, Bartholomew was martyred for his faith, remaining faithful to Christ until death. He is remembered as a courageous missionary and a faithful witness who gave his life for the Gospel.

ANNOUNCEMENT | All Classes to Shift to Online Modality on August 24-25

In view of the recent security concerns and to prioritize the safety and well-being of our school community, ALL CLASSES will shift to an ONLINE learning modality on August 24–25, 2026 (Monday–Tuesday).

For Faculty: Faculty members may opt to report to campus if they require school facilities or internet connectivity to conduct their online classes.

For Non-Teaching Personnel (NTP): All NTP are expected to report onsite and continue their regular duties and responsibilities.

This temporary two-day arrangement will allow the school to maintain academic continuity while the Safety and Security Office strengthens campus security measures, entry protocols, and monitoring systems.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, stay informed through official school channels, and cooperate with the measures being implemented for the safety of our community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Let us strengthen the Campus Youth Ministry.

In the face of growing concerns about school violence, student behavior, and the challenges young people are experiencing today, we need to look beyond punishment and ask how we can form, accompany, and guide our young people before they reach a breaking point.

The Campus Youth Ministry may not be the sole solution to the problems confronting our schools, but I believe it can help a lot.

Our young people need spaces where they can be heard without judgment, where they can ask difficult questions, build meaningful friendships, discover their purpose, and encounter God. They need mentors and communities that can walk with them—not only when there is a problem, but especially before one arises.

Teachers cannot carry this responsibility alone. Parents, teachers, school administrators, guidance counselors, youth ministers, parishes, and the wider community must work together in forming our young people.

A stronger Campus Youth Ministry can become one of those bridges—a safe and welcoming space where faith, values, friendship, service, and responsible citizenship can be nurtured.

We cannot expect our young people to choose peace if we do not give them opportunities to experience and practice peace. We cannot simply tell them to be respectful; we must surround them with communities that teach, model, and live out respect.

The Campus Youth Ministry may not solve everything. But every young person reached, every heart listened to, every life guided, and every act of kindness nurtured is already a step toward a safer and more compassionate school community.

Let us not wait for another tragedy before we invest in the formation of our youth. Let us strengthen our Campus Youth Ministry now.

𝙏𝙬𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙮-𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙎𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙊𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚

𝕲𝖔𝖘𝖕𝖊𝖑 (𝖬𝖺𝗍𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗐 16:13-20)

Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and
he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Then he strictly ordered his disciples
to tell no one that he was the Christ.
