Joshua stood before the people near the end of his life, not just to celebrate God’s faithfulness to them, but to call the nation back to the heart of their faith. He reminded them of all that God had done, and then he presented them with a decision: 'Choose this day whom you will serve.' It is easy to forget God and drift away when we lose sight of His work in our lives or prefer compromise over His will. But people, who by identity are seekers of the Kingdom of God, do not live off yesterday’s faithfulness. They choose today. They choose again. And so must we. Let us choose God daily by fearing the Lord reverently, serving Him faithfully, and throwing away other gods completely.
