“I am grateful for…” 🍰

As we close the year, we did something simple but sacred. One by one, each of us came to the front—not to perform, but to pause.

We spoke gratitude over the year that was.
We declared blessings over the year ahead.
And we placed those words—our prayers, hopes, and thanksgiving—on a single cake.

It was a reminder that gratitude is sweeter when shared, that blessings multiply when spoken aloud,
and that every season—whether easy or hard—deserves to be offered back to God.

Here’s to remembering where God has brought us,
and trusting Him with where He is leading us next.

"Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky."
Philippians 2:15 calls us to “shine among them like stars.”

Embracing this light, Compass Christian Church - Davao gathered with the Bacalso and Talisay congregations for their 2025 Christmas Party at the Buhangin Upper Room. Together, they celebrated the true reason for the season: Jesus Christ.

The fellowship was graced by a beloved brother in Christ, Pastor Rey Alfaraz, and his wife, Pastora Ileen. In his sermon, Pastor Rey addressed the “big problem” separating humanity from God: sin. He explained that because of sin, we are all in need of a Savior to quench God’s righteous wrath.

That Savior is Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. This is the beautiful promise that showcases God’s unwavering grace and mercy toward His creation. A wonderful reason to celebrate this season joyfully.

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them." Luke 1:68
