A New Sunday, A Fresh Encounter with God

Whatever this week has brought you, you don’t have to face the next one alone.

You may come tired, but you can leave encouraged.
You may come with questions, but you can leave with renewed faith.
You may come carrying a burden, but you can place it in God’s hands.

The Safest Place Is Where Jesus Is

Sometimes, what we want most is not for the storm to become stronger, but for the storm to simply stop.

We pray for the problem to disappear, for the situation to change, for the answer to come, and for everything around us to finally become calm. But the story of the disciples in Mark 4:35–41 reminds us of something deeper: following Jesus does not mean we will never face storms. Even while obeying Jesus’ direction, the disciples found themselves in the middle of a furious storm.

And perhaps that is where many of us can relate.

There are seasons when we are doing our best to follow God, yet things still become difficult. We pray, but the answer seems delayed. We cry out, but God seems silent. We wonder, “Lord, are You still here? Do you see what I am going through?”

The disciples asked, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” But Jesus had never left the boat. The problem was not His presence. The problem was their perception.

That is a powerful reminder for us: God's silence does not mean God's absence.

Joseph went through betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and prison. Abraham waited years for the fulfillment of God's promise. David experienced seasons when he felt forgotten. Yet God's silence was never the end of their story. Faith means trusting God even when our feelings tell us otherwise.

And when Jesus finally spoke, the wind stopped, the waves calmed, and peace returned. Jesus has authority over the storm.

But sometimes, before He calms the storm around us, He calms the storm within us first.

So if you are going through a storm right now, don't measure God's presence by how calm your circumstances are. Look at who is in your boat.

You may not understand the storm.
You may not understand the silence.
You may not know how the story will end.
But Jesus is still in the boat.

And that is enough reason to keep trusting.

The safest place in the world is not where there are no storms. The safest place is wherever Jesus is in your boat.

What a meaningful time of worship and encouragement in God’s presence!

Last Sunday, we were reminded through Mark 4:35–41 that storms can come even when we are walking in obedience to God. Being in God’s will does not mean we will never face difficult seasons. But when the storm comes, we can hold on to the truth that Jesus is still in the boat with us.

The disciples saw the wind and the waves and became afraid, even questioning if Jesus cared. But Jesus was there the whole time. The problem was not His presence, but their perception. Even when Jesus seems silent, He is present.

And when Jesus spoke, the wind stopped, the waves calmed, and peace returned. He has authority over every storm and every situation we face. Sometimes, He calms the storm around us, and sometimes He calms the storm within us first.

Whatever storm you may be facing, remember:

The safest place is not where there are no storms.
The safest place is wherever Jesus is in your boat.

Thank you, church family, for worshipping with us! May we continue to trust Jesus through every storm and every season.

Sometimes, we find ourselves in a place where there seems to be no way forward and no way back. Behind us is the past we thought we had already escaped, and in front of us is a situation we do not know how to overcome.

But the story of Israel at the Red Sea reminds us that what looks like a dead end to us is not a dead end to God. Israel saw the Red Sea, but God saw a pathway. They saw an impossible situation, but God saw an opportunity to reveal His power.

So, when fear tells you, “There is no way,” remember what God has already done. Do not allow today’s Red Sea to make you forget yesterday’s miracle.

You may not understand why God brought you to this place. You may not see the solution yet. But if God is the One who led you, the obstacle in front of you is not bigger than the God who is with you.

Don’t panic. Don’t go back to Egypt. Stand in faith. Keep moving forward.

When you cannot see a way, God can.
When you cannot make a way, God can.
When there seems to be no way, God will make a way.

Trust the God who brought you this far. He will make a way where there is no way.

Last Sunday, we were reminded of a powerful truth: when there seems to be no way, God will make a way.

The Israelites saw a Red Sea and a dead end, but God saw a pathway and an opportunity to reveal His power. Sometimes, we may not see the solution, but that does not mean God does not have a way.

When facing our own “Red Sea,” we are called to remember what God has already done, not to go back to what He delivered us from, to stand in faith, and to keep moving forward.

Thank you, church family, for joining us last Sunday. May we continue to trust the God who brought us this far.

Join us again this Sunday at 9:30 AM!

NCCC Mall Cinema 3, Level 4, Buhangin, Davao City

Bring your family and invite a friend. Come worship, grow, and be encouraged by God’s Word.

When there is no way forward and no way back, trust the God who brought you this far. He will make a way where there is no way.

Life Group Advance: Equipped to Build

A day of learning, growing, and being equipped for the work God has entrusted to us.

Through every session, discussion, and hands-on activity, we were reminded that facilitating a Life Group is more than leading a conversation. It is about creating a space where people can connect, be encouraged, grow in faith, and experience the love of Christ.

We learned.
We practiced.
We connected.
And most importantly, we were reminded of our purpose.

Because when God equips us, He equips us not just for ourselves, but to help build others.

May everything we learned in this training move from the classroom into our homes, our relationships, our Life Groups, and our communities.

Equipped to Build.
Ready to Lead.
Committed to Build Lives for Christ.

All glory and honor to our living God 🙌
