A friendly reminder to Christian students.
I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of prioritizing Christ above all else, especially in the midst of busy school schedules. As Colossians 3:2 states, we are called to set our affection on things above, not on things of the earth.
While it's important to focus on our studies and do well in school, we must never allow this to become an excuse for neglecting our church ministries. It's easy to get caught up in the demands of academia and forget the ultimate reason we are living, which is to honor and serve Christ.
I know how busy students are these days. You may be Junior High School, Senior High School or even College but God deserves to be the first rather than on the achievements we are gaining on earth. Remember that we are nothing without His grace.
I urge you to remember that the enemy will try to distract and discourage you by tempting you to prioritize worldly concerns over your spiritual life. However, we must stand firm in our faith and remain committed to attending church services, participating in soulwinning, and building meaningful relationships with fellow believers rather than on unbelievers.
It's not just church ministries that can be affected by busy school schedules - our personal spiritual disciplines can also suffer. Many students find themselves missing their prayer lives and Bible reading because they wake up and are immediately distracted by the sets of assignments they need to complete.
However, we must remember that our spiritual growth is just as important as our academic success, if not more so. We must make intentional efforts to prioritize our time with God, even if it means waking up a little earlier or sacrificing other activities.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us to "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." When we make Christ the priority in our lives, He promises to take care of our needs.
Set time with God each day, even in the midst of a busy school schedule. Set aside time for prayer and Bible reading, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart and guide you in all that you do.
Remember, our ultimate goal is not just to succeed academically but to grow in our relationship with Christ and glorify Him in all that we do. So, let us set our hearts on things above and prioritize our commitment to the Lord and His church.
May the grace of God be with you as you navigate this season of your life. Have a purposeful and productive day, driven by your passion for Christ.
