Re: PLENARY INDULGENCE ON THE DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DAVAO, 8 SEPTEMBER 2024 TO 17 DECEMBER 2024

Greetings of peace and joy in our Lord!

I am pleased to announce a significant and blessed opportunity for all the faithful of our Archdiocese during our celebration of our Diamond Jubilee.

The Holy See has granted our request (26 April 2024) for a Plenary Indulgence to be granted to our faithful during the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Davao. It has been favorably granted on 6 September 2024 and was communicated to us yesterday, 9 September 2024. This Plenary Indulgence will be available to all pilgrims visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Pedro from 8 September 2024 to 17 December 2024.

Furthermore, to emphasize the profound significance of this pilgrimage, the Holy See has graciously approved the opening of the Holy Door of the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Pedro, thereby enriching our journey with a special and sacred dimension. In light of this, I am pleased to announce that the Holy Door will be solemnly opened on 14 September 2024, Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, after the 6:00 a.m. Eucharistic Celebration. It will remain open until 17 December 2024 when it will be closed after the 4:30 a.m. Misa de Gallo.

We encourage all the faithful to take part in this spiritual journey, reflecting on our shared history and growing in faith as we mark this momentous occasion.
