Yesterday, February 18, 2026, the faithful members of the chapels of Zone 3 gathered at GKK SeΓ±or San Roque Lower Carmen for the Holy Mass in celebration of Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Lenten season.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Marvin M. Del Campo, together with Rev. Jessie Canonigo. During the Mass, the faithful received ashes on their foreheads, a solemn reminder of repentance, humility, and our call to conversion.

As we begin this sacred journey of Lent, may this season deepen our commitment to prayer, fasting, and charity, and lead us closer to Christ.

The faithful of GKK San Roque Lower Carmen are prayerfully invited to attend the Holy Mass on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 5:30 PM, in observance of Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the sacred season of Lent.

During the celebration, the Blessing and Imposition of Ashes will take place, reminding us of our call to repentance, humility, and conversion of heart. As the ashes are placed on our foreheads, we are reminded of our human frailty and our need to return to God with sincere faith and love.

This solemn celebration invites us to reflect on our lives, renew our commitment to prayer, fasting, and charity, and prepare our hearts for the journey toward Easter.

On February 12, 2026, the priests of the Society of Montfort Missionaries (SMM) from Cebu recently visited GKK San Roque Lower Carmen as part of their continuing support and pastoral mission to our community.

The visiting priests, Rev. Fr. Derrick Yumang, Rev. Fr. Sherwin NuΓ±ez, and Rev. Fr. Rene Bustillo, have been instrumental in helping and supporting the chapel, especially in its rebuilding and development. The purpose of their visit was to assess the progress of the chapel, identify its remaining needs, and further strengthen their partnership with the community.

The visit was joined by Engr. Lorenzo M. Yumand and his wife, Dr. Anabelle Yumang, Ma'am Gene Tone, and Rene Tone, also Ma'am Marilou Coleta, together with the chapel leaders, highlighting the spirit of unity and shared responsibility in serving God’s people.

With grateful hearts, the GKK San Roque Lower Carmen extends its heartfelt thanksgiving for the generosity, guidance, and opportunities continuously shared with our community. May this partnership continue to grow in faith, service, and love.

Last February 14, 2025, the GKK San Roque Lower Carmen successfully conducted the King & Queen of Hearts activity in celebration of Valentine’s Day. This meaningful event was organized as part of the community’s continuing support, charity, and initiatives for the further development of the chapel and its members.

The program was spearheaded by Engr. Lorenzo M. Yumang and Ma’am Marilou Coleta, who are also among the generous benefactors of the chapel. Through this celebration, the community was united in expressing love, gratitude, and solidarity, strengthening the spirit of fellowship among the faithful.

The GKK San Roque Lower Carmen extends its heartfelt appreciation to all benefactors, participating couples, organizers, and chapel members who played a vital role in making this activity successful. Your support and dedication truly reflect the spirit of love and service in our community.

Today, we commemorate Saint Valentine, a priest and martyr of the early Church who became a symbol of selfless love, faithfulness, and sacrifice. Despite persecution, he courageously upheld Christian values and ministered to couples, reminding us that true love is rooted in God.

Saint Valentine’s life teaches us that love is not only about romance, but about commitment, service, forgiveness, and compassion, a love that reflects Christ’s love for His people.

May this memorial inspire us to love sincerely, serve humbly, and remain faithful in our relationships and in our journey of faith.

Today, the Church honors Our Lady of Lourdes, who appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 at the grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes, France. In her apparitions, Mary called the faithful to prayer, repentance, humility, and trust in God, and revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception.

Lourdes has since become a place of healing, hope, and pilgrimage, where countless faithful seek spiritual and physical strength through Mary’s loving intercession. This feast is also observed as the World Day of the Sick, reminding us of God’s compassion for those who suffer.

May Our Lady of Lourdes continue to guide us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, and strengthen our faith in times of trial.
