In this month of October, wherein we join our churches in America in honoring PASTORS I want to personally appreciate the contribution of each Pastor who served Immanuel Baptist Church of Davao City (the first Southern Baptist Church in Mindanao and Visayas), since its foundation in 1952.

These have served IBC as led by the Holy Spirit to preach and teach the unsearchable riches of His grace.
I thank God for their devotion to duty, commitment in their calling and faithfulness of service. Only God has their service record kept in His untarnished file with their award-trophy a-waiting their reaching the finish line.
When you divide 62 years of church existence by seventeen pastors, each Pastor served IBC an average of three and a half years during his stint. (Some Pastors would have served longer when their pastoral stint and interimship are combined.)

IBC in Davao City is celebrating a month-long observance of her 62 years of ministry in the community, during the month of September.

Please come, join in worship every Sunday. Bring your family and friends. I urge all IBC members to support the ministries, program and activities promoted during the celebration.

Immanuel Baptist Church is the mother, grandmother and great grandmother of all Southern Baptist Churches in Mindanao and the Visayas.

It's Sunday in Davao. I should be in church as my custom is. Also, because I'm Pastor of a church. Not only have the Doctors ordered me to be home bound but the Church Council and Deacons ordered me to take a month vacation to recuperate. So this morning I conducted a solo worship service. Played about a dozen hymns, prayed, read a devtional book, the Bible, preached me a sermon entitled: "What do You do When Death Knocks At Your Door?" The invitation hymn is "I Know Whom I Have Believed." My Response was a hymn "Jesus, I Come To Thee!" How was your worship today?
