More than 500 members of the Davao Philippines Stake gathered at the Davao Stake Center along CM Recto to attend the Dedication Broadcast of the Davao Philippines Temple on May 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with many also attending the 2:00 PM rebroadcast.

The dedication was performed inside the temple at Ma-a Road and Anahaw Road, Barangay Ma-a, Davao City, and was presided by Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, accompanied by Elder Erich W. Kopischke of the General Authority Seventy and Elder Carlos G. Revillo Jr. President of the Philippines Area, and was broadcast live to all units within the Davao Philippines Temple district.

We are grateful to witness this special day for Davao.

The Davao Philippines Temple will be dedicated today, May 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

First announced by President Russell M. Nelson in October 2018, the Davao Philippines Temple will be the fifth operating temple in the country.

Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication of the Davao Philippines Temple today, May 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The dedication marks a significant milestone for the Church in Mindanao, strengthening faith in Jesus Christ and providing greater access to temple blessings.

𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿

There will be a rebroadcast of the temple dedication for members who are unable to attend the live broadcast, such as those taking turns caring for young children, those working graveyard shifts, or those simply wanting to rewatch. This provides another opportunity to watch the temple dedication in the afternoon at 2:00 PM. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆.

Admission is limited to members- adults, youth, and 𝗯𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 aged 8 and above- with temple recommend.

Please prepare and bring the following for 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁.

Latter-day Saints join in the 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 during temple dedications and other historic occasions. It is described as a “sacred salute to the Father and the Son,” expressing deep worship and gratitude.

“Hosanna,” meaning “save now,” comes from ancient scripture and recalls the praises offered 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗺 and other sacred gatherings. Today, it serves as a reverent reminder of faith and gratitude to the Lord.

𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Davao City unanimously passed Resolution No. 0790-26 on March 24, 2026, congratulating The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on completing the Davao Philippines Temple. Presided over by Rodrigo Duterte II, the resolution recognized the temple as a milestone for Mindanao members and highlighted its role in strengthening faith, family unity, and community development. The temple was described as a symbol of faith, hope, and service, with expected social and economic benefits for the region.

The Church was represented by Elder Carlos G. Revillo, Jr., President of the Philippines Area, accompanied by Rizaldito Castro, President of the Davao Philippines Stake, and Haidi Fajardo, Area Director for Communications and Publishing, during the presentation of the resolution.

The dedication of the Davao Philippines Temple is scheduled for 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 and will be 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲.

Members of the Davao Philippines Stake will gather at the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 to view the live dedication. This sacred event gives baptized adults, youth, and children a unique opportunity to worship the Savior, Jesus Christ, and to participate in a temple dedication.

Members are encouraged to prepare spiritually and 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 to receive a temple dedication recommend.

A new set of leaders has been called for Matina 2nd Ward, with Catalino S. Villejo III, 39, serving as Bishop, alongside his counselors Dynzl B. Barrizo, 26, as First Counselor, and Mike Darrene A. Matulin, 22, as Second Counselor on April 19, 2026.

We look forward to their leadership as they begin their responsibilities to strengthen and guide the members.
