‎May nagbabalik! 👀 Sports Sunday is finally back! 🏀🏸 We came together to play but yesterday challenged us to look beyond the game: are we truly playing for the same team when it comes to God? 🧐

‎𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅. Just like in the game, you can know every rule, memorize every play, and understand exactly what to do but when you step onto the court, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞. 🤝

‎Romans 7 reminds us of the struggle: we know what is right, yet sometimes choose what is wrong. But Romans 8 points us to the answer, 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐝. 🙏

Today, we celebrate the gift of your life and thank God for the blessing that you are to your Spiritual Family. Bro, one of the things we appreciate most about you is your obedient and willing heart. Whether serving, helping, or simply being present when needed, you consistently show a quiet faithfulness that reflects your love for God and His people. Your kindness, generosity, and genuine care for your brothers and sisters have encouraged many lives in ways you may not even realize. Like a steady light that continues to shine, your life reminds us that true greatness is often found in humble service, sincere love, and a heart that is willing to follow God's leading.

As you celebrate another year of life, we also want to encourage you to keep holding on to the Lord through every season. We know that some days can be difficult, and the road may not always be easy, but the God who has carried you this far remains faithful. There is something so beautiful when a heart simply yields to God's love. Claire is already so clear in saying "yes" to Him, and watching her walk this path with such purity, innocence, and humility has been an absolute gift. During her Bible studies, she approaches God's Word like a curious child—asking questions without hesitation, eager to learn, and completely unafraid to admit when she feels confused.

In a world that tells us we need to have everything figured out before we step forward, Claire’s heart is a gentle reminder of what true faith looks like. We don’t need to know every single answer to come closer to God; we just need a humble, willing heart that genuinely desires to know Him. Her simple posture of listening, learning, and trusting is a quiet inspiration to everyone around her.

Vis, today we celebrate not just another year of your walk with God, but a life that has become a blessing to so many. Your love for the Lord overflows into the way you care for His people. Like a warm light in a home, you have a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. To many of us, you are more than a shepherdess—you are a mother in the faith, a trusted friend, and a safe place where weary hearts find encouragement. Through your patience, wisdom, understanding, and genuine concern for others, we have seen the love of Christ in action. Whether through a simple conversation, a timely reminder from God's Word, or even your humor that brightens the room, God has used your life to strengthen and sustain many of us in our faith.

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 📢 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠? 😬

Have you noticed? that most arguments aren’t actually about who’s right or wrong 🤔, they’re about someone not feeling understood 🫣. Passive listening defends your position, but active listening defends the relationship. 🙌🏻

If you want to level up your social skills, deepen your relationships, and stop unnecessary conflict before it starts, here is the 7-𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒑 𝑫𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓:

1️⃣ 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 🧘‍♂️ – Calm your nervous system before you tune in. If your heart is loud with defensiveness, you can’t hear theirs.

2️⃣ 𝑩𝒆 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕 📵 – Put the phone away, drop the rehearsed comeback, and show up with open body language.

3️⃣ 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒚 𝑩𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕 🔍 – Ask "What did you mean by that?" before making false assumptions that fuel conflict.

4️⃣ 𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕 & 𝑬𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 💭 – Mirror back the facts, the feelings, and the underlying meaning ("You felt dismissed because...").

5️⃣ 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 🤝 – Validation isn't agreement; it’s lower-ing the emotional threat and saying, "I see why that hurt".

6️⃣ 𝑨𝒔𝒌 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝑵𝒆𝒆𝒅 💡 – Don't guess. Ask directly: "Do you want comfort, solutions, or just to be heard?"

7️⃣ 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒛𝒆 & 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒎 🔄 – Wrap it up with "Did I miss anything?" Earn the right to speak by making sure they feel 100% understood first.
