First Timothy 1:5 and 19 speak of a good conscience. In our understanding, a good conscience is a conscience void of offense. But there is a difference between being good, and being void of offense. Today, the Lord Jesus desires to gain a group of people who will bear His testimony. As the church, we need to shine forth the light of the Spirit of God from our spirit to bear the testimony of Christ and the church. In order to bear such a testimony, we need to be daily filled with Christ as the Spirit by calling on His name and receiving the riches in His Word. This is the way for us to bring the Lord back.

Lessons on Prayer Chapter 8 : The Will and Prayer

With the mind, the emphasis is on the comprehension and understanding of the soul concerning matters or things; with the emotion, the emphasis is on the likes and dislikes of the soul; and with the will, the emphasis is on the decisions and determinations of the soul. In a proper man the will should rank higher than the mind and the emotion. It should stand in the highest place. The will, subject to the control of the spirit, should be the presiding part of the soul.

A ship is secure if it can depend on its rudder to determine its direction. If a car can depend on its brakes to control its speed, that car is definitely safe. But if the direction of the ship is not determined by its rudder, and the speed of the car is not controlled by its brakes, both the ship and the car are very dangerous. Likewise, in both our walk and our prayer we must allow our will to rule over our emotion and mind. Thus, we can be proper humans. To behave according to an undisciplined mind and emotion is dangerous. A child who always plays but is not willing to study surely has a weak will. If his will is strong and is being used properly, it will restrict him from playing when he should be studying. Therefore, learn to exercise the will so that it will be strong yet pliable. Learn also to allow the will to rule, to take the lead, controlling the mind and the emotion. Thus, you can be a proper man. When this condition exists, you can pray.

BOASTING IN THE CROSS
1) โ€œBut far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christโ€ (Gal. 6:14).
Those zealous for the Jewish religion forced others to be circumcised in order to boast in others' flesh (Gal. 6:12-13). However, the Apostle Paul, being gained by Christ, did not boast in anything but the cross of Christ.

Christ unveils in His further work after resurrection โ€” His ascension into the heavens, His heavenly ministry, His coming again, His establishing of the millennial kingdom, and His being the center of the New Jerusalem. In His ascension, Christ brought His believers into a heavenly position. In His heavenly ministry, He is the Mediator, the Minister, the High Priest, and the Advocate, ministering to us and interceding for us. In His coming again, He will receive His believers, save Israel, and judge the nations. Then He will establish the millennial kingdom for His reign with His overcoming saints. Ultimately, Christ will be the center, content, and light of the New Jerusalem in eternity. Thus, to know Christ is to experience Him not only in His redemption, but in His present ministry and in what He is still carrying out for the fulfillment of Godโ€™s eternal purpose.
