The History Of “AGDAO CHURCH Of GOD”
The history of the Agdao family Church Of God started as a charismatic bible study in the year of 1981 with Ptr. Jackson Go was then attended by devoted Catholics at San Juan, Agdao Davao City. As the Word of God was continually taught, more than half of these catholic people had been converted to our Christian faith and some of them left who did not stand on
the Word. This bible study continued until they have their first Sunday service in the year 1984 at the house of one of the members. The name of the church first was Agdao Church Of God under Ptr. Jackson Go was given a two-year scholarship in the United States to continue his study. So he left the church and a certain Nita Deño, one of the leaders of the church temporarily took over until Ptr. James Simon was assigned as pastor of the church in the year 1988. During this year, there was a problem that came to the church that caused it to cease all its activities and even no more Sunday service. The church vanished and some of the faithful members went to the city church to continue their Christian faith which is also a church Of God. When Ptr. Jackson Go returned from the United States years after, the faithful members of the Agdao Church of God who attended their Sunday service at the city church requested the regional overseer who was then Ptr. Pablo Ventura at the time to let Ptr. Jackson Go re-open the church at Agdao. In the year 1994 – 1995, a bible study was being restored at San Juan Agdao by Ptr. In the month of June of 1995, a church service was restored at the garage of the house of one of the members of the church at R. Castillo St., Agdao Davao City. The church continued with Ptr. Jackson Go from 1995 to 2000. In the month of July of the year 2000, Ptr. Jackson Go together with his wife left for the United States for some reason. Before he left, he personally recommended Ptr. Miguel Suan Jr. as the pastor of the church until the present time. During Ptr. Miguel’s time the members of the church are still few. In fact, during the first two months of their meeting, they were seven of them including the pastor and his wife. So, they were only five of them. Two couples and one widow. The Lord has been blessing the church with people. From seven (7) active members including the pastor and his wife to more than sixty (60) people excluding children in more than two years of being a pastor. The Lord has added people saved into His kingdom through this ministry. More churches were being planted and more souls were saved. The name of the church then was changed to “Agdao fChurch Of God” under the ministry of the Church Of God World Missions of the Philippines Incorporated. To God be the Glory
