SERVANTHOOD FOUND IN JESUS

It is a fullfilled Lord's day as we have come to understand what makes us as a follower of Christ became a true SERVANT.

Neither a POSITION nor POWER comes the GREATNESS but it is to SERVE.

Let's take it to our hearts that Jesus, our best example of being a SERVANT washes our feet despite of His Greatness.

We've explored the heart of a true discipleship: servanthood. Let's carry this spirit into our week ahead.

See you next Sunday, ! Shalom 🙏🏻

REBUILDING OUR TEMPLE 🔥

Glory to God in Heavens resonates the message from Haggai with us today, urging us to prioritize our spiritual lives, reflect on the consequences of neglect, and respond with obedience and action.

As we rebuild the temple in our hearts and communities, may we experience the fullness of God's presence and blessings in our lives.

Let's do heart check: GOD FIRST ✅

Happy Sunday 😊

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever."

Is Christ optional for a human soul? Is Christ just a part of our basic, essential needs? Is Christ just a means to a healthy and prosperous life? If you think that He is just a part of what you need, then you'll have to read this because maybe your precious soul is at stake. For more than 2000 years, redeemed people of Christ have been willing to give up everything for Christ; for them, there is no earthly treasure so valuable than belonging to their Great Savior. Following Christ cost them their earthly wealth, their peaceful lives, their status in society, and even their own lives. Until today, His saints are continually suffering together as a church bearing the marks of Christ and consistently being persecuted by this fallen world.

What then is the root of this great love that they have for Christ? The answer can only be found by the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Christian did not become a Christian because they loved Christ and pursued piety, but because God, in His love, sent His Son to die for us despite of our great rebellion against the One True King. We love because God has first loved us. A love so amazing and divine that it is perceived as foolishness to the unbelieving eyes. This is the love that compels us Christians to really treasure Christ and that made Christ sit on the throne of our hearts.

You are a sinner; you are a part of this great rebellion to God Most High. You are a liar, blasphemer, thief, self-centered, and idolater, and the list goes on as fast as you draw air. No man is righteous, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and therefore all deserve eternal hell, for we have grieved the Eternal God. But this is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Christ came down and adapted the nature of man, lived a perfect life and obeyed the Father and has shown perfect obedience and yet persecuted, suffered, and was nailed to the cross, paying for the sins of His people, and resurrected on the third day showing His power and proving that what He said is true. If you turn away from your sins and wholeheartedly trust Christ, you will be declared innocent and righteous. I beseech you, reader, not to waste this precious soul of yours. Work's cannot save us; work's cannot make us good, and the more you think that it is, the more you are heaping wrath on yourself. Repent! and Believe! in Christ the given Lamb as an offering, treasure Him and make Him your greatest delight, and make Him rule in your heart.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
-1 Peter 1:8-9

Peter was one of the three disciples that saw the glory of God in Christ on the holy mount. Having seen this and coming to a depth of understanding of our position in Christ, he rejoices to remind us that all Christians are born for glory - the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, for we are one with Him.

Peter reminds us that as we walk through this Christ-rejecting, sinful world, our miracle of new birth guarantees that we are also being kept IN this world by the power of God. We are being kept for a glory that is set before us' reserved for us in heaven.

But in addition, Peter tells us that all Christians are being prepared FOR glory through the things that we suffer. Like Christ, Who is our superlative example, we are being perfected by the things that we suffer and through our response to the various trials and tribulations we face in this life.

Our past redemption, our present sanctification, and our future glorification is ours through Christ Who loved us and gave Himself for us. And we live this life by grace, through faith in the work of the Lord Jesus on the Cross.

Our love is not based on what we see of Christ with our physical eyes. Our love for Christ is founded on all that we know of Him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving. We love Him for all that He suffered on the Cross for us, for the life that He gives us through His Resurrection, and for the glory that He is preparing for us in heaven.

Our spiritual understanding is founded on the Word of God and revealed to us by the Spirit of God, which is poured out in full measure into our hearts. We love Him because He first loved us. He died to redeem us, He rose again to give us His life, and He is preparing a heavenly home for us in glory.

Though we have not seen Him in person, we love Him passionately. Though we do not behold Him with our physical eyes, we believe in Him and trust His Word. And we rejoice with a joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, for Jesus is our Lord and our God, our Saviour and our Friend.

"Isn’t it strange that our Lord says that we are called to love God with our minds? We don’t usually speak of love in terms of an intellectual activity. In fact, most of our understanding of love in our secular culture is described in passive categories. We speak not of jumping in love but falling in love, like it was an accident.

But real love is not an involuntary thing. It is something we do purposefully based on our knowledge of the person we love. Nothing can be in the heart that is not first in the mind. And if we want to have an experience of God directly where we bypass the mind, we’re on a fool’s errand. It can’t happen. We might increase emotion, entertainment, or excitement, but we’re not going to increase the love of God because we can’t love what we don’t know. A mindless Christianity is no Christianity at all.

If we want to love God more, we have to know Him more deeply. And the more we search the Scriptures, and the more we focus our minds’ attention on who God is and what He does, the more we understand just a tiny little bit more about Him and the more our souls break out in flame. We have a greater ardor to honor Him. The more we understand God with our minds, the more we love Him with our minds.

To love God with our minds is to hold Him in high esteem, to think about Him with reverence and with adoration. The more we love God with our minds, the more we’ll be driven to do that other thing that is alien to us in our fallen condition, namely, to worship Him. To pursue God with our minds simply for intellectual enjoyment and without the ultimate purpose of loving and worshiping Him is to miss what it means to love Him with our minds. True knowledge of God always bears fruit in greater love for God and a greater desire to praise Him. The more we know Him, the more glorious He will appear to us. And the more glorious He appears to us, the more inclined we will be to praise Him, to honor Him, to worship Him, and to obey Him."

An unregenerate heart is hard as stone, full of pride and presumption. It is quite unmoved by the sufferings of Christ, in the sense that they act as no deterrent against self-will and self-pleasing. But the real Christian is moved by the love of Christ, and says, "How can I sin against His dying love for me?" When overtaken by a fault, there is passionate relenting and bitter mourning.
