OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Northern Davao Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Northern Davao Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church would like to address the concerns and questions arising from the activities and teachings of certain independent groups spreading claims regarding a specific date for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church does not believe nor teach that Jesus Christ will return on May 15, or on any specific date declared by individuals or independent groups. The Church firmly rejects all attempts to predict or announce a definite date for the Second Coming of Christ.
The Bible clearly teaches:
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”
— Matthew 24:36
As a Church, we uphold the biblical teaching that while the Second Coming of Christ is certain and imminent, no human being has been given authority by God to determine or proclaim the exact date of His return.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church believes in the literal, visible, personal, and worldwide Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This blessed hope is one of the fundamental beliefs of the Church and is grounded entirely upon the teachings of the Holy Scriptures.
The Church teaches that believers must live in constant spiritual readiness, faithfully proclaiming the gospel, while avoiding speculative teachings and sensational claims that are not supported by Scripture.
We would also like to clarify that the group promoting these teachings is not affiliated with the Northern Davao Mission. Furthermore, they are not recognized members, representatives, or authorized ministries of the Church. The teachings and activities of this group do not represent the official doctrines, beliefs, or positions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
We encourage all church members and the public to seek guidance and clarification from their local church pastors, district leaders, and official Church leadership regarding issues, teachings, or movements that may create confusion among believers.
Let us remain united in the truth of God’s Word and anchored upon sound biblical teachings. While every individual is given freedom of conscience and belief, such freedom should not be used to promote unfounded interpretations or speculative teachings that are not faithfully grounded in Scripture.
We encourage everyone to return to the Bible as the only sure foundation of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. True teachings must always be tested through careful study of God’s Word and in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The Northern Davao Mission remains committed to proclaiming the everlasting gospel, uplifting Christ, and preparing people for His soon return through biblical truth, love, and faithful ministry.
