A Beautiful Finish: DVBS 2026 Graduation!

Our hearts are full of joy and gratitude as we look back on the Graduation Ceremony of our Daily Vacation Bible School, held last Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Soli Deo Gloria Tacunan Sanctuary. God has been so faithful throughout this entire journey!

Worship and Celebration
The special day began with our regular Sunday worship service, where Ptr. Freddy Lavega led the congregation and preached God's word. Around 60 children, along with many of their parents, filled the sanctuary to worship together.

The best part of the morning was seeing parents sit through the church service before the graduation started. Hearing the Gospel together as a family is truly the most important highlight of all.

Celebrating the Children
During the graduation ceremony, every child was recognized for their hard work and unique talents over the 5-day VBS. We handed out certificates for the following:
• Perfect attendance and punctuality
• Excellence in Bible verse memorization
• Creativity in arts and crafts
• Being highly participative and responsible

Blessings to Take Home
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the children didn't just go home with certificates. Each graduate was blessed with 5 kilos of rice and 10 pieces of eggs to bring home to their families. The kids were so happy and proud to carry these gifts back to their households!

A Blessed Community
We were also honored to have Ptr. Abraham Ramos and his wife, Jenica Ramos, attended our Sunday worship service with us as parents of two of our VBS completers. They are from SDG main church but intentionally joined us for this special event. Ptr. Abraham led our community in the closing prayer, wrapping up the ceremony with thanksgiving.

Fellowship Lunch
We ended the day just like a big family—with food! Both the adults and the children enjoyed a wonderful fellowship lunch, with everyone receiving packed meals and drinks.

Thank you to every teacher, volunteer, parent, and donor who made DVBS 2026 a success. We pray that the truths these children learned will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Day 5: The Heart of the Gospel

Today was the final day of classes for our DVBS at Soli Deo Gloria Christian Church—Tacunan, and it was the most important one yet. We spent our last afternoon together focusing on the heart of why we do this.

The Greatest Story
Our teacher, Bro. Keno Resterio shared the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. The children learned about the sacrifice He made on the cross and the hope of salvation for everyone who believes in Him. It was a powerful way to tie together everything they’ve learned this week.

Heart-to-Heart Moments
After the lesson, the kids sat in small groups with our volunteers and teachers. This was a special time for them to share their own reflections and talk about what Jesus' love means to them. These conversations were very moving and gave us a chance to get to know the children and their stories on a much deeper level.

Getting Ready for Graduation
To wrap up the day, the whole group—kids, teachers, and volunteers—started getting ready for our big celebration this Sunday!
• Action Songs: The church was filled with music as everyone practiced the community songs we’ve been singing all week.
• Memory Verses: We were so proud to hear the children reciting the Bible verses they’ve memorized from each of the five lessons.

See You Sunday!
While the classes are over, we are just getting started! We can’t wait to see all the families at our Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, May 10.
Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this incredible week. We have seen God work in so many ways, and we give Him all the praise!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Day 4: Animals, Art, and an Ark!

We are moving right along! Day 4 of our DVBS at Soli Deo Gloria Christian Church—Tacunan was full of creativity and a very special surprise guest that the kids absolutely loved.

A Lesson to Remember
Today, Sis. Analou Gonzales shared the story of Noah and the Great Flood. The kids learned about God’s protection and His promises to those who follow Him.
• Meeting Noah: The highlight of the afternoon was a "meet and greet" with Noah himself! Bro. Dennis Gonzales dressed up to play the part, bringing the Bible story to life and giving the children a chance to hear the story in a whole new way.
• Building the Ark: The children got to be builders today! They used recycled materials to make their own makeshift arks. It was wonderful to see them showcase their work and explain how their arks would float.
• Creative Fun: Our younger group had a great time using clay to mold the different animals that went into the ark two by two.

Looking Ahead
It’s hard to believe tomorrow is our final day of classes before the big graduation on May 10! Our prayer is that the lesson of the rainbow—God’s promise—stays fresh in their minds tonight.
We are still so grateful for the support that keeps these kids fed and these activities running. Thank you for walking this journey with us!

Day 3: A Special Treat for the Body and Soul

It’s already Day 3 of our DVBS at Soli Deo Gloria Christian Church—Tacunan, and God continues to move in ways we didn't expect. Today was a very meaningful day for both our teachers and the children.

Learning and Growing
Today, Sis. Sharlyn Diaz sat down with the kids to talk about a very important story: the fall of Adam and Eve. While it’s a tough topic, the children learned about why we all need God’s forgiveness and the amazing love He has for us even when we make mistakes.

A Special Meal
Today’s snack time was a bit more special than usual. We served pork adobo on a stick with rice, which felt more like an early dinner!
We were moved to learn that many of our children hadn't had a proper lunch or enough food before coming to the church today. It reminded us why we are here—not just to feed their souls with the Word of God, but to care for them and make sure they feel full, safe, and loved.

Keep Us in Your Prayers
As we head toward the end of the week and our graduation on May 10, please continue to pray for these kids. We want them to leave here knowing that God provides for their needs and that Jesus is the greatest gift they could ever receive.
We are still welcoming any support for snacks and our graduation day. Thank you for being part of this mission with us!
To God be the glory!

Day 2: More Kids, More Joy!
We are so excited to share that our second day of DVBS at Soli Deo Gloria Christian Church—Tacunan was even bigger than the first! It is such a blessing to see the church filling up with more children eager to hear about God.

What Happened Today
The best part of the day was seeing our group grow to about 60 children! That’s a big jump from yesterday, and we are so happy to have every single one of them with us.
• Today’s Lesson: Sis. Ena Dizon taught the kids from Genesis 2. They learned about how God created the world and how He made us with so much love and care.
• Extra Help: We want to give a big thank you to Sis. Vonette Quisol (helping Sis. Con Suico for the delicious macaroni soup merienda), Merilyn Oberes, and Gloria Doquila for helping us out in the distribution. Their hard work made the day go smoothly.
• Parents in Attendance: It was also wonderful to have some of our parents join us! Thank you to Sis. Marie Paragili, Jenica Ramos, and Hannah Condeza for being there to support your children and the church.

How You Can Help
As more kids join us, we need a bit more help to keep them well-fed and happy! We are still looking for snacks or small donations to help with our daily food and the upcoming graduation on May 10. If you’d like to share a blessing, please reach out to us.

Our Prayer
Please keep praying for these children. Our hope is that they don’t just have fun, but that they truly understand how much God loves them and how much they need Jesus in their lives.
To God be the glory!
