Uniting nine campuses in a showcase of faith and solidarity, Dominican Network (DomNet) schools across Mindanao recently held โSaranggola: Elevating Dominican Youth to Greater Heights through Faith, Hope, and Loveโ at San Pedro College - Basic Education Campus, Feb. 15โ17.
Facilitated by the San Pedro College Dominican Network Youth Group (SPC DYG) Core Group and Core Division, together with the DomNet regional officers from the different participating schools, the first day โ the Day of Faith โ featured a Eucharistic celebration and the opening program.
Events throughout the day included team-building sessions, a fellowship dinner, a pajama bonfire, and a praise and worship period.
Momentum continued into the second day โ the Day of Hope โ as participants kicked off the morning with Zumba exercises, followed by communal activities such as the community dance, giant inflatable volleyball, scavenger hunt, and traditional saranggola-making.
Transitioning into the evening, the night of festivities took center stage with creative presentations and the search for the DomNet Ambassador and Ambassadress 2026.
Promoting personal reflection and growth, the last day โ the Day of Love โ opened with a eucharistic celebration, after which the SPC DYG main campus moderator, Aljessa Sebastian, delivered the words of thanks.
โIt is God who is trying to fulfill what is lacking in usโฆ from calculations to confidence, and from blindness to insights. May this kind of event become an instrument to open your hearts and open your mindsโฆ and may His presence allow you to understand who God is in your lives,โ said the mass presider.
Newly elected DomNet officers took their oath of office following a 15-minute break, marking the start of the concluding ceremony, which featured the distribution of institutional certificates and the presentation of awards for various competitions, including kite-making, amazing race, cheers and yells, creative presentations, and individual categories.
Marking the end of the gathering, rituals of goodbye and a community dance occurred, solidifying the bonds formed among the participating institutions and sparking anticipation for future gatherings.
