Immeasurably More

What’s the boldest prayer you can think to pray? Or the most incredible thing you can dare to imagine?

Did you know that God can top it?

Paul said it like this:

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You know those quiet dreams in your heart? God put them there. You know that ache for something better than this broken world? God gave you that desire. You know the deepest longings of your soul? God knows how to fulfill them.

Like Paul said, God can do more than we ask or imagine, but we also must remember the second part of his words: according to His power at work within us.

It’s all God’s power and His plan. But He has invited us into it.

So what’s our part in this process?

We can give glory to Him—knowing that it’s Him who gives us the desire and power to do what pleases Him (Philippians 2:13). He created us, loves us, and has entrusted us with sharing His message with the world.

We can submit ourselves to His plan—knowing that it’s all God, but He chooses to work in and through His people to accomplish His purposes. He doesn’t need us to be perfect, He just wants us to be willing.

We can trust Him with the process—knowing that He is good, righteous, worthy, strong, and eternal. We don’t have to know all the answers because we already have Him, and He can do more than we can ask or imagine.

GOD IS GOOD FOREVER
Love that Lasts

For years, nothing in King David’s life looked “good.”

His family underestimated him, giants despised him, and his father-in-law spent years trying to kill him. But the whole time, David clung to a promise that God would establish him, and make him king of Israel.

David never gave up or gave in—he stayed close to God, and waited for Him to act. And when God acts, this is how David responds:

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV

Despite the pain David endured, he knew that even when life didn’t look good, he still served his good God. And this same God actively fights for us.

Through His Son, Jesus, He has given us continual access to Himself. We can never lose His unfailing love toward us—a love that endures forever, no matter what goes on around us.

David recognized this, and proclaimed it. And every day, we have the opportunity to do the same thing. Here are two practical ways we can respond to God’s goodness and love:

- Thank Him in Prayer
When Jesus was teaching His disciples to pray, He told them to start like this: “Our Father in heaven, help us to honor Your name.” It’s fine to ask God for things, but real relationships include both give and take. So at least once a day for the next week, go to God in prayer, and thank Him for something He’s done—without asking Him for anything in return.

- Share Your Story
The writer of Hebrews encourages us to honor God by “proclaiming our allegiance to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15-16) So what has God done for you? Where have you seen Him provide, protect, show up, or show off through your life? Look for natural opportunities to share what God is doing in you with someone else.

Right now, reflect on your life and thank God for His eternal goodness. Nothing you have faced or will ever face is too much for the God who loves you and died for you. Bring Him your concerns, surrender your expectations, and allow Him to reveal the evidence of His goodness in your life.

Si Jesus Makahimo sa Imposible

Ang giingon ni Jesus sa Mateo 19:26 usahay masabtan sa sayop. Ang uban naghunahuna nga pasabot niini mao nga mahimo nato ang bisan unsang atong gusto tungod kay ang Dios makahimo sa imposible. Apan dili kana mao ang tinuod nga kahulogan sa bersikulo.

Sa Mateo 19:16–22, usa ka dato nga batan-on ang nangutana kang Jesus unsaon pag-angkon sa kinabuhing walay katapusan. Giingnan siya ni Jesus nga biyaan ang iyang mga bahandi ug mosunod Kaniya, apan wala siya mosugot kay labaw niyang gihigugma ang iyang mga kabtangan.

Busa miingon si Jesus nga lisod alang sa usa ka dato nga tawo ang pagsulod sa gingharian sa Dios. Ang punto niini mao nga ang pagsunod kang Cristo nagkinahanglan og bug-os nga pagtugyan. Dili mahimong bahinon ang atong gugma tali kang Jesus ug sa mga butang sa kalibutan.

Nangutana ang mga tinun-an, “Kinsa man diay ang maluwas?” Mitubag si Jesus: “Sa tawo, kini dili mahimo; apan sa Dios, ang tanang butang mahimo.” Ang kaluwasan dili makab-ot pinaagi sa atong kaugalingong paningkamot. Gasa kini sa Dios pinaagi kang Jesu-Cristo ug pinaagi sa gahum sa Balaang Espiritu Santo nga naghatag kanato og pagtuo.

Pamalandong: Unsay nakababag sa imong hingpit nga pagsalig kang Jesus? Mahimong relasyon, bahandi, o sayop nga panghunahuna. Itugyan kini sa Ginoo, kay Siya lamang ang adunay gahum sa pag-usab sa imong kasingkasing ug sa pagbuhat sa imposible.

Si Jesus ang Gumagawa ng Imposible

Ang sinabi ni Jesus sa Mateo 19:26 ay madalas na hindi nauunawaan sa tamang konteksto. Iniisip ng ilan na ang ibig sabihin nito ay maaari nating gawin ang anumang gusto natin dahil kayang gawin ng Diyos ang imposible. Ngunit hindi iyon ang tunay na kahulugan ng talatang ito.

Sa Mateo 19:16–22, isang mayamang binata ang lumapit kay Jesus at nagtanong kung paano siya magkakaroon ng buhay na walang hanggan. Sinabi ni Jesus na kailangan niyang iwan ang kanyang mga kayamanan at sumunod sa Kanya, ngunit hindi niya ito nagawa dahil mas mahalaga sa kanya ang kanyang mga ari-arian.

Kaya sinabi ni Jesus na mahirap para sa isang mayaman ang makapasok sa kaharian ng Diyos. Ipinapakita nito na ang pagsunod kay Cristo ay nangangailangan ng buong puso at ganap na pagsuko. Hindi maaaring hatiin ang ating pag-ibig sa pagitan ni Jesus at ng mga bagay sa mundong ito.

Nagtanong ang mga alagad, “Sino nga ang maliligtas?” Sumagot si Jesus, “Sa tao ay imposible ito, ngunit sa Diyos ay posible ang lahat ng bagay.” Ang kaligtasan ay hindi natin makakamtan sa sarili nating pagsisikap. Ito ay kaloob ng Diyos sa pamamagitan ni Jesu-Cristo at sa kapangyarihan ng Banal na Espiritu Santo, na nagbibigay sa atin ng pananampalataya.

Pagninilay: Ano ang humahadlang sa iyo upang lubos na magtiwala kay Jesus? Maaaring ito ay isang relasyon, mga materyal na bagay, o maling pag-iisip. Isuko mo ang lahat sa Panginoon, sapagkat Siya lamang ang may kapangyarihang baguhin ang iyong puso at gawin ang imposible.

Jesus Does The Impossible

Jesus’ statement in Matthew 19:26 is often taken out of context. Many people have taken this verse to mean that they can do anything they want in life because God can do the impossible. Often this can lead to us asking God to do something selfish.

In order to understand what Jesus is saying, we should read the preceding verses. In Matthew 19:16-22, a young man comes to Jesus asking for eternal life. Jesus tells him that he must give up all of his earthly possessions—something the young man is not willing to do. Because he failed the test, the young man failed to inherit eternal life.

Jesus says in Matthew 19:23 that it is very difficult for a rich man to enter heaven. The point is that loving Jesus requires everything we are. Our ultimate love cannot be split between Jesus and something else.

The disciples then ask, “Who can be saved?” Jesus responds in Matthew 19:26 that it is impossible for man to save himself—but it is possible with God. God can do the very thing that man cannot.

We cannot earn our salvation. We cannot work hard enough to attain it, and we can’t achieve it on our own. It is impossible. But with God all things are made possible for us to be saved. It is only through the work and power of Jesus that we have access to salvation. And through the empowerment of the Spirit, we are enabled to have faith in God.

What in your life is keeping you from faith in Jesus? Maybe it’s a relationship. Maybe it’s material possessions. Maybe it's a wrong mindset. Whatever it might be—God has the power to remove these things from your heart so that you can have faith in Jesus.

So spend some time with God today, and ask Him to search your heart. Ask Him to reveal anything within you that is keeping you from loving Jesus better. Then, do something daring—surrender those things over to God.

You’ve Been Set Free

If you’ve ever been in debt (or known someone who has), you know the impact it has on a person. When you’re in debt, your money, time, or resources aren’t your own—they’re continuously being taken from you, and often with interest.

No one wants to be enslaved to a lender, and yet—every one of us has owed a debt we could never pay off.

The ancient Greek word for “sin” means “to miss the mark.” It was originally used to describe an archer’s arrow that didn’t hit the center target. In archery, it didn’t matter whether your arrow was close to the mark or far from it. If you didn’t hit the center, you lost.

In Scripture, the “mark” is the standard God asks us to aim for—but we all miss it. We miss it when we choose selfishness over humility, and anger over gentleness. We miss it when we lie, cheat, steal, slander, complain, and gossip. We miss it when we tear people down, and disobey God’s command to love others. Sin prevents us from becoming the people God created us to be.

But the good news is: Jesus saved each of us by sacrificing Himself for our mistakes. We couldn’t pay off our debt of sin in a million lifetimes, but He freed us from it in one moment.

And because He paid our debt, He wants us to live as free people.

When we pursue anything that separates us from God’s Spirit—whether through legalistic actions or lawless decisions—we act like Jesus hasn’t set us free. But when we choose to love others like Jesus loved us, it shows we value Jesus’ sacrifice and want to embrace the freedom He bought for us.

So how do we live free?

We accept that what Jesus did was enough for us, and then we commit to loving Him.

As our love for God grows, His Spirit helps us unconditionally love others. Instead of holding a grudge, the Spirit helps us forgive. Instead of hurting someone, the Spirit helps us encourage people. Instead of using people, the Spirit inspires us to humbly serve.

The more we love, the more we embrace our freedom—and because of God’s love, nothing can take our freedom away.

Galacia 5:13

Gitawag kita sa Diyos ngadto sa kagawasan pinaagi kang Cristo. Apan kini nga kagawasan wala ihatag aron sundon nato ang atong kaugalingong mga tinguha ug mga pangibog. Hinuon, ang tinuod nga kagawasan makita diha sa paggamit nato sa atong kinabuhi sa paghigugma ug pag-alagad sa atong isigkaingon.

Ang Kristohanong kinabuhi dili lamang mahitungod sa atong mga katungod ug mga pribilehiyo, kondili usab sa atong responsibilidad sa pagpakita sa gugma ni Cristo ngadto sa uban. Sa matag higayon nga kita motabang, mopasaylo, ug moalagad uban sa gugma, atong gipakita ang tinuod nga kahulugan sa kagawasan nga gihatag sa Diyos.

Hinaut nga gamiton nato ang atong kagawasan dili alang sa atong kaugalingong kaayohan lamang, kondili aron mahimong daluyan sa gugma, grasya, ug pag-alagad alang sa kaayohan sa uban ug alang sa himaya sa Diyos.

Ang Ginoo maga panalangi nimo igsoon.

Ang Isaiah 26:4 nagtudlo kanato sa kahinungdanon sa padayon nga pagsalig sa Ginoo.

“Salig kanunay sa Ginoo, kay ang Ginoo mao ang walay katapusang dalangpanan ug lig-on nga pundasyon.”

Pagtulon-an sa bersikulo:

* “Salig kanunay sa Ginoo” – Dili lamang sa panahon nga maayo ang kahimtang, kondili bisan sa kalisdanan, sakit, ug mga pagsulay sa kinabuhi.

* Ang Ginoo mao ang “walay katapusang bato” – Nagpasabot kini nga ang Dios lig-on, kasaligan, ug dili mausab. Ang tanan sa kalibutan mahimong mausab, apan ang Dios magpabiling matinud-anon.

* Ang tinuod nga kalinaw makita diha sa pagsalig sa Dios – Kung ang atong paglaom anaa kang Cristo, adunay kalinaw bisan pa sa mga kabalaka ug kahadlok.

Pamalandong:

Kung ang atong kusog gikan sa atong kaugalingon, dali kita maluya. Apan kung ang atong pagsalig anaa sa Ginoo, makabarog kita bisan sa pinakalisod nga panahon, tungod kay Siya mao ang atong lig-on ug walay katapusang dalangpanan.

Pabilin ta sa pagsalig sa GINOO…
