JOHN 6:44-51
The Gospel today from St. John's account concerning on "the discourse of bread of life" invites us faithful who believes and welcomes Christ in the most Blessed Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist to embody his life giving presence in us through this peace of bread that "WE MAY BECOME WHAT WE EAT". The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1324) gives us logical reason, for "The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life" It should be that the summit of our Christian life is to become what we have received__materializing it through our whole way of life, that is, by our "actions"__not so much on words but by example. St. Pope Paul VI once said: "People today listens more to witnesses than to preachers". Thus, challenging us to become preachers of deeds for only then we become men of our words, since we do and keep what we proclaim and believed as the truth of our Christians faith. JMJ
