Believe God Made You Right in Christ | Romans 3:21-26

When we BELIEVE GOD HAS MADE US RIGHT, we believe that...

*God has provided everything in Jesus Christ.
Our faith positions us to receive salvation, healing, prosperity, and deliverance God has already provided through His grace. Our faith does not make it happen. Jesus did.

Hebrews 8:12 NKJV
[12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

*God is no longer angry because of the divine exchange.
We need to believe that God sees your sins in Jesus on the cross and God sees Jesus' righteousness in you.

II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
[21] For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Unashamed of the Gospel | Romans 1:16-17

In ancient cultures, honor was everything and crucifixion was a public symbol of shame, humiliation, and rejection. However, for Apostle Paul, the death of Jesus on the cross isn’t something he was ashamed of. In fact, he was bold to tell the world the message of the gospel which centers on the crucifixion of Christ.

For Paul, the cross was not a symbol of shame but actually the emblem of God’s power.

We should not be ashamed of being Christians because our Gospel story did not end on the cross but in an empty tomb.

We should not be ashamed of being Christians because we are made right before God through faith despite what we have done.

DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF CHRIST AND HIS GOSPEL.
DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF YOUR TESTIMONY AS A CHRISTIAN.

Romans 1:16-17 NKJV
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. [17] For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (March 1, 2026)

The World Hates Christian | John 15:18-27

But why does the world hate such a compassionate, loving, and kind man, Jesus? Why does the world hate Christians?

I. Satan hates Jesus.

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.” - John 15:18-20 NKJV

Cain hated and killed his brother Abel, who was righteous. Cain’s heart and mind, his emotions and thinking, were controlled by Satan. Similarly, the world hates Christians who reflect the image of God; we see that in Cain’s character. They hate righteous Christians. They hate preachers who tell the truth of sin, hell, and judgment. They hate the gospel.

Believers become a rebuke to the world. If you are a believer who lives righteously and does not compromise your faith, then expect that you will be rejected and persecuted. You should not be surprised. The world will not embrace you. Jesus commands us not to be afraid. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven." - Matthew 5:11-12

II. Jesus testifies that the world’s deeds are evil.
“But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin, but now they have seen and also hated Me and My Father.” - John 15:21-24

During Jesus’ time, His first persecutors were the religious leaders, the Pharisees, and the teachers of the law. They hated Him intensely because Jesus confronted them for their hypocrisy and hidden sin. Jesus warned them that they cannot escape divine judgment; John the Baptist rebuked Herod the tetrarch when he told him that it is not lawful for him to have Herodias to be his wife because she was married to his brother, Philip. By hearing this, Herodias was furious toward John the Baptist for exposing her sin. So, Herod bound John the Baptist put him in prison, and he was later beheaded as requested by Herodias.

Jesus and John the Baptist spoke the truth regarding their spiritual condition, but they refused to believe the truth. They expressed their hatred by killing them.

Before we became Christians, we enjoyed sinning; sin was part of our life. Before, we loved sin and got mad when our sin was exposed. For the non-believers, to sin is to live and enjoy life. For genuine Christians, to die to self is to live and enjoy Christ.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” - Romans 12:2

We, believers of Jesus Christ, should shine in the darkness, for we are the light of the world as we reflect Christ. What does the light do? It exposes darkness;

1 John 2:15
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in Him.”

11/03/2026

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (February 22, 2026)

Abide in the True Vine | John 15:1-17

How can we know that a believer abides in Christ?

I. When a believer continues in the faith.

The relationship that Jesus has with His disciples is compared to a Vine and a branch. Jesus is the vine, and the branches are the disciples. There are two kinds of branches : a branch that does not bear fruit and a branch that bears fruit. This also means that there are two types of professing Christians: one is a genuine Christian, and the other is a superficial Christian.

The superficial Christians, although attached to the vine, yet have no right relationship with God. Outwardly they look religious and calm, but inwardly they indicated something else.

“They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work." - Titus 1:16

Now the branches that bear fruit are described as the genuine Christian. Why? It says in John 15:2b, "...and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” The pruning may refer to hardship that eventually produces faithfulness and a closer relationship with God. A man who is born again would persevere under trials. His faith is being tested through painful trials, tribulations, and hardships. James 1:2-4 tells us, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Faith that endures to the end is a genuine faith. 1 Peter 1:7 says, "If need be, you have been grieved with various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire..."

II. When a believer continues in the Word.

A genuine disciple will remain in the Word, meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8), obey it, and share it with others. Jesus said in John 8:31-32 , ‘…If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” This means that disciples do not only agree in the principles of Jesus, but that they also persevere in obeying His teachings. Those who abide in the Word of Jesus will persevere to the end, and they will find spiritual freedom, that is, freedom from the bo***ge of sin..

Now, among the twelve disciples, there’s one person who did not remain in Christ, and that was Judas. Judas was the branch that did not stay in the vine. John 6:70-71, 'Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is the devil? He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.’

Jesus is warning us not to follow what Judas did. It’s not about his betrayal but that he did not continue; he did not remain in the Word of Christ. He did not remain in the love of God. There was no repentance found in him. Despite the knowledge he had of Christ, there was no perseverance in his obedience to Christ. A branch that is attached to the vine yet has no right relationship with God is defective and corrupted. Jesus makes it clear to the disciples that without Him they can do nothing.

Believers, don’t forget that your identity is in Christ. Let’s examine ourselves to see if our faith is real or genuine and repent for not abiding in Christ.

John 15:1-6
"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (February 15, 2026)

LOVE ONE ANOTHER | John 13: 31-35

How to love like Jesus?

I. By laying aside status and becoming a servant
II. By forgiving people
III. By abiding in His love

As a body of Christ, no one is above the other. We are one in the body of Christ, and Christ is the head. Unity in the body of Christ is possible through humility. Paul explained this principle in Philippians 2: 3-4, “3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”

Jesus’ love is teaching us not to give up on people. Galatians 6:9-10 commands us not to lose heart: “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap a harvest if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” This we should keep doing: “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32)

Jesus says in John 15:10, “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.” Jesus lives in a constant and perfect union with the Father. As a result, the Father’s love moves into Jesus, and there is a divine power to love. In the same manner, Jesus commanded His disciples to abide in His love, John 15:9: "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” It's for this abiding in Jesus’ love that humility and forgiveness are possible for the believers.

The believers are able to love others by abiding in the love of the Son, which flows from the love of the Father.

Jesus charges us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

John 13:34
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (February 8, 2026)

Christ's Law | John 8:2-12

In John 8, there is a woman caught in adultery who is dragged physically into the public place of the temple by the religious authorities of the day, and placed her at the feet of Jesus. What did the woman feel? How did Jesus deal with this issue?

Points to reflect...

I. Jewish leaders’ motives
Who are these religious leaders? Jesus described them as hypocrites because they disregard God’s commandment but cling to human traditions (Matt. 23:23: Mark 7:6). They were testing Jesus so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. If Jesus would say, 'Stone her,' then they would report Him to the Roman government as having incited an ex*****on in defiance of Roman authority. But what if Jesus would say, ‘Don’t stone her'? They would immediately go to the Jewish Council, telling them that Jesus, who claimed to be the Messiah, denied the law of Moses. Thus, the Scribes and Pharisees used the Scripture for their own sinful purposes.

II. Christ’s verdict
The Jewish leaders were waiting for Jesus’ verdict. They asked Jesus for the second time, and Jesus answered them, ‘He who without sin among you, let Him throw a stone at her first.’ Jesus was applying what He taught in Matthew 7: 1-5 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

III. Christ’s law
The woman was hurt. She felt completely embarrassed. Jesus showed compassion to the woman. Although she deserved to be put to death according to the law of Moses, Jesus did not do it. When Jesus asked the woman, “Has no one condemned you?’ The woman’s reply, ‘No one, Lord’, showed her repentance and faith in Jesus. Here, Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you."

Instead of condemnation, the woman received forgiveness, redemption, and restoration.

Jesus did not change, dissolve, or distort the law. He fulfilled it. How? What is the requirement of the law?

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." - Galatians 5:14

The only man who could perfectly fulfill the law is Christ Jesus. Christ’s love is perfect and holy. Jesus Christ demonstrated this perfect and pure love through His sufferings and death on the cross so we may receive forgiveness and salvation.

Romans 13:8-10
“8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder." “You shall not steal." “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law."

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (February 1, 2026)

Taste and savor the Bread of Life | John 6:25-40

Why do we seek Jesus?
Why do we need to labor for spiritual food?
What works are required by God?

Jesus said in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” Verse 33, “For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” Verse 58 says, “He who eats this bread will live.” This is urging the people to come to Jesus, the bread of life. He offers life, eternal life. Therefore, only eat what is good (God’s word) for deep spiritual nourishment. Invest in the things that help you grow spiritually. Seeking things above is never a waste. They don’t get destroyed, rusted, or even stolen.

To have faith (to believe) is the only work that God requires of us. The true bread that you ingest and partake of is spiritual. Taste and savor Jesus.

John 6:27
”Then they said to Him, ‘What shall we do, that we may do the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (January 25, 2026)

Jesus’ Nourishment| John 4: 31-38

These are two important things:
1. Jesus’ Food
2. White for Harvest

John chapter 4 narrates the encounter of the Samaritan woman with Jesus. After baptizing more disciples, Jesus withdrew from Judea and came to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar. Jesus went intentionally to Sychar to meet and evangelize the woman who had lived an adulterous life. Jesus told the woman in verses 13 and 14, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” Here, Jesus was offering life, eternal life, to the woman.

Although Jesus was tired and hungry physically, He could not neglect His mission. It was Jesus’ delight to do the will of God and to see souls saved.

Jesus’ food was ‘to do the will of the One who sent Him.’ To Jesus, to do God’s will is His mission (John 6:38), goal (John 5:30), pleasure (Psalm 40:8), and nourishment (John 4:34).

White for harvest means “spiritual harvest." The Samaritan people are ready to be harvested. Jesus commanded the disciples to lift their eyes off the earthly things and begin to pay attention to heavenly things. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” The disciples needed to develop a spiritual harvest mindset. They needed to understand what the Lord was doing in the life of the Samaritan woman.

The fruit that you bear in doing God’s will has eternal value. What you are investing in are heavenly things that will last for eternity. The fruit you harvest is people brought to eternal life.

John 6:27 “Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

📌📝 SUNDAY RECAP (January 18, 2026)

How Can a Man Be Born Again? | John 3: 1-15

Are you born again? Are you saved?
What does Jesus mean when He says, ‘You must be born again’.

I. A person must acknowledge his sinfulness. (vv. 1-3)
II. A person must realize that he needs a Savior. (vv.3 & 5)
III. A person must be born of God. (vv. 6-8)

Are you born again? If you are born again, please be reminded of this:
1 John 3:9 says, “Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.”

If not, then repent of your sins, turn away from it and place your faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
