The miracle did not begin when the nets became full. It began when they chose to obey.

Can we rejoice wholeheartedly when others succeed, even when our own prayers are still waiting for an answer—and are we willing to ask God to remove whatever pride, envy, or arrogance may still be hiding in our hearts?

Yet standing for truth does not mean condemning or humiliating those who have gone astray. As followers of Christ, we are called to speak the truth with love, humility, and compassion. When we courageously speak against wrongdoing, our hope should be to help others recognize their mistakes, turn away from sin, and return to the path that leads to righteousness and life.

This Gospel reminds us that preparation cannot be postponed indefinitely. There may come a moment when we can no longer say, “I will prepare later.” We do not know when our earthly journey will end, nor do we know when the Lord will come. What we have is today—the opportunity to pray, to repent, to forgive, to love, to serve, and to return wholeheartedly to God.

We can perhaps reflect deeply on Jesus’ words to Peter: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father” (Matthew 16:17).

Can the people around us see, through the way we love, forgive, serve, and care for them, that we truly love God—or is Jesus inviting us today to open our hearts wider and let our love for Him overflow into the lives of those who need us most?
