The CGECS-SEM proudly continues the heartfelt legacy of LT EMMANUEL B CABAHUG PCG by bringing smiles to the students of Bangoy Elementary School. Through the simple gesture of giving snacks, we witnessed pure joy in the eyes of the children β€” a reminder that small acts of kindness can leave lasting impressions.

This initiative also shows that the Philippine Coast Guard is not only about saving lives at sea, but also about uplifting lives on land. We remain committed to supporting the community, strengthening morale, and living out the true spirit of service.

Our deepest thanks to the Foodbank of the Philippines for their unwavering support and for always sharing their delicious bread with us. Your generosity helps us touch more lives and build stronger connections with those we serve.

LOOK | LT EMMANUEL B CABAHUG PCG, OIC CGECS-SEM, together with the dedicated personnel and draftees of Team CGECS-SEM, celebrated the 1st Friday Mass at the Co Su Gian Home for the Aged.

This special Mass was held to remind our beloved elders how important they are to us. Even if some of them may feel alone in this world, we want them to feel that they are never forgotten, they are always loved, cherished, and given the respect they truly deserve.

After the Mass, we shared snacks with the elderly residents and the hardworking personnel of the home as a simple way to express our care and appreciation.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Food Bank of the Philippines for their continuous support in providing snacks for our outreach activities. We are also sincerely thankful to Ms. Eva Marie Fanega for her unwavering support, always just one call away whenever the CGECS-SEM has an activity. And of course, to her kind and supportive niece, Kristine Fanega, who is always ready to assist.

This day reminded us all that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring so much warmth and joy to others.

The Easter Vigil liturgy is the most beautiful liturgy in the Roman Catholic Church.
The full meaning of "vigil" is waiting for the coming of the Lord.

The term comes from the Latin vigilia, which means "wakefulness," and came to be used when the faithful stayed awake to pray and do devotional exercises in anticipation of the feast.

Although celebrated Holy Saturday evening, it is the dramatic Easter vigil liturgy that marks the beginning of Easter. We are awaiting our master's return with our lamps full and burning, so that he will find us awake and seat us at his table (cf. Luke 12:35). All Catholics should try to attend this beautiful service.

A lot of things happen during Easter Vigil and some of which are the following that we shouldn't miss:
1. Service of Light
2. Liturgy of the Word
3. Liturgy of Baptism
4. Liturgy of the Eucharist

Many Roman Catholic churches practice a devotion known as the Veneration of the Cross on Good Friday. The clergy and congregation approach a cross or crucifix one by one, and offer a gesture of respect to all that it represents. This gesture usually includes kneeling or bowing before the cross and then kissing it. The Priest solemnly unveils a crucifix in three stages.
