EXAMINE OUR FAITHFULNESS TO CHRIST.
The betrayal of Judas Iscariot, one of
Jesus's closest companions, serves as a
sobering reminder of human nature's frailty.
Chosen as one of the Twelve, Judas had the privilege of walking alongside Christ and
witnessing His miracles and teachings.
Yet, for thirty pieces of silver, he betrayed
the Savior, driven by greed, disillusionment,
or perhaps a deeper internal struggle.
This act of betrayal highlights the tragic
reality of misusing free will and the
consequences of turning away from God's
grace. Judas betrayal calls us to examine
our faithfulness to Christ. In moments of
weakness, fear, or temptation, we, too, can
falter – whether by compromising our
values, prioritizing worldly gains, or failing
to stand firm in our faith. Judas story warns
us against complacency, urging us to
remain vigilant in prayer and steadfast in
our relationship with God. Amen.

WE ARE ENCOURAGED TO FOSTER LOYALTY.

When Jesus identifies Judas as the one who will betray Him, it reveals the complicated nature of human emotions, where love can coexist with
betrayal. How often do we encounter challenges to our loyalty? Remaining true can be difficult in friendships, family, or work relationships. Peters resolute promise, " I am ready to give my life for you,"stands in stark contrast to his
subsequent denial. This teaches us that our intentions do not always align with our
actions.

The essence of this passage encourages us to reflect on our commitments and seek ways to strengthen our connections with others. In a world wnhere betrayal seems inevitable, we are encouraged to foster loyalty through open
communication, empathy and understanding.

Mary's gesture symbolizes profound
love and commitment, demonstrating
that true devotion often involves
personal sacrifice. When Jesus
defends her by saying,"She bought it
so that she might keep it for the day
of my burial," He emphasizes the
significance of her actions in light of
the impending death. Just as Mary meaningfully expresses her devotion,
we can also find ways to demonstrate
our care for others. This may involve
small acts of kindness, spending
quality time with family and friends, or engaging in difficult conversations that strengthen our relationships.

The essence of this passage encourages
us to reflect on what it truly means to
value those we love. Sometimes,

LECTIO DIVINA: HIS SUFFERINGS WERE REDEMPTIVE.
The readings for this
Sunday lead us into the most
sacred time of the Church's
calendar. They present a portrait
of our humble and meek king as
he approaches his passion and
death. The passages from the
prophet Isaiah and the Psalms
remind us of the suffering servant
who never turns away from his
divine call and willingly submits
to his suffering. They culminate in
the narrative of the Lord's Passion
according to Matthew.

As we enter Holy
Week, we reflect on the Lord's
physical, emotional, and spiritual
suffering. He endured physical
pain through His scourging
and crucifixion, emotional
distress from the betrayal and
abandonment of His friends, and
spiritual agony in feeling forsaken
by His Father as He hung on the
Cross. However, His sufferings
were redemptive, for He unites
our pain with His and offers us
salvation. They remind us that we
are never alone in our suffering
because He experienced pain
and emerged victorious. In our
struggles, we find hope in Christ,
who transforms suffering into
victory. Let us walk with Him in
this Holy Season, trusting that we
are healed through His Passion,
Death, and Resurrection.

Thank you, Lord, for
saving us by your passion, death,
and resurrection. Enable us to
also walk with our suffering
brothers and sisters.

Go and help a suffering or
needy neighbor.

OPENNESS AND ACCEPTANCE.
The theme of this passage from Luke is openness and acceptance as Mary encounters the angel Gabriel, who shares the incredible news about her role in Gods plan.
When Gabriel tells her, "With God, nothing is impossible," he encourages Mary to embrace
an uncertain future. Marys "FIAT" (Let it be done) demonstrates her openness to Gods will

"Kinsa ka?" Mao kini ang pangutana sa
mga Judio nga gipangutana ni Jesus
sa Ebanghelyo. Mao usab kini ang
pangutana sa naglibog nga mga tawo.
llang nakita si Jesus ingong usa ka
misteryosong tawo ug gusto nilang
masabtan siya sa bug-os. Usahay

TO GENUINELY EMBRACE OUR IDENTIES.
In this passage, the theme of identity
stands out as Jesus speaks about
where He comes from, why He is here,
and where He is going. He warns the
people, "You shall die in your sins unless
you believe l am He." At the heart of this
passage is the tension between knowledge
and belief. The crowd struggles to
understand Jesus, questioning who He is
and what authority He possesses. This
mirrors our lives, where we often wrestle
with our identities and how others perceive
us. Discovering our true selves and the
paths we should take can be challenging
in a world filled with noise and differing
opinions.

Jesus's statement reminds us that our
identities are closely linked to our beliefs
and actions. We can navigate life
purposefully and confidently when we
understand ourselves beyond societal
expectations. This Gospel encouages us
to genuinely embrace our identities,
recognizing that self-awareness and belief
in our value can lead to a more fulfilling life.

ALLOWING LOVE TO PREVAIL OVER JUDGMENT.
In the gospel passage, compassion is
emphasized when Jesus encounters a
woman caught in adultery. Confronted
by a crowd eager to judge her, He
challenges them with the powerful
statement: "Let anyone among you
who has no sin be the first to throw a
stone at her." This moment resonates
with our experiences, reminding us
how quickly we can judge others while
neclecting our own mistakes.

At the heart of this passage is a call to
reflect on forgiveness and empathy.
The woman is vulnerable and at risk of condemnation, yet Jesus shows her
compassion rather than punishment.
This act of kindness highlights how
empathy can transform lives, How often
do we hastily judge others mistakes?
Jesus's reaction encourages us to pause
and reflect on our flaws before judging
others. This Gospel urges us to show
compassion to those around us and
ourselves, recognizing that everyone
faces chalenges and weaknesses. Doing

LECTIO DIVINA
NEVER TO LOSE HOPE,
EVEN IN HOPELESS SITUATIONS.
Ezekiel prophesied of
renewed people shaped by God's
spirit to live their covenant with
Him. St. Paul explains that we
can fulfill God's will with the Holy
Spirit dwelling in us. The gospel
of John gives us the greatest of
all the signs that Jesus did: the
raising of Lazarus.

The raising of
Lazarus encourages us never
to lose hope, even in hopeless
situations. It is never too late
for God to renew an individual
or a community. But how can
we collaborate with God to
experience His power? The
answer is not simply faith, as
none of the characters in the
story believed that Jesus would
or could raise Lazarus; rather,
it lies in practical obedience to
this wonder-working God and in
following His will. The characters
in the story obey the Lord's
commands fully, so Lazarus was
restored to life. Perhaps some of
us are entrapped by the death of
sin. Others may find themselves
in despair or the bo***ge of
sinful habits and attitudes. Jesus
is ready for a miracle, But are we
prepared to cooperate with Him?
The answer lies in our hearts.

Lord, give me a heart
that will cooperate with your will.

Let us unbind (forgive)
those who wronged us and allow
a new relationship to blossom.
