Philippine Tribal Convention of Southern Baptist Churches, Inc.: A Testimony of God’s Faithfulness
The Philippine Tribal Convention of Southern Baptist Churches, Inc. once again experienced the faithfulness of the Lord to His servants who faithfully serve Him.
Despite financial constraints, God provided a way for the Tribal Convention to attend the 6th Federation, held in LCSBC Camp and Training Center in Alfonso, Cavite, Southwestern part of the Cavite Province in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines on August 11–13, 2026. This year’s team is Living in Harmony: The Blessing of Unity with reference taken from the Book of Psalm chapter 133. With 18 delegates, together with our President, Rev. Ben Embaan, the Convention actively participated in the gathering with excitement, gratitude, and open hearts.
The Philippine Tribal Convention is composed of 19 associations, more than 6,000 members, and approximately 300 plus churches throughout the Philippines. Its mission is to reach unreached tribal communities and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, calling people to place their faith and trust not in false gods, but in the one true God.
This was the first time the Convention was able to send such a large delegation. For many of our delegates, it was also their first time traveling outside Mindanao. Representatives came from Tribal Associations in Lake Sebu, Baluntaya, Marilog, Mati, Makilala, Davao City, and Sarangani, representing Tribes including the Bagobo Tagabawa, Mandaya, B’laan, Manobo, Bagobo Guingan, and Matigsalug.
During the Federation, Rev. Ben Embaan shared updates on the ongoing ministries of the Philippine Tribal Convention, particularly in the area of education. Through Seminary Education by Extension, nearly 400 students have recently graduated. The Antioch Institute continues to train and equip tribal brethren for ministry and leadership. Our medical mission partnership with Compassion Parañaque also continues, with plans already underway for a third medical mission, bringing much-needed care and compassion to tribal communities.
The 6th Federation was well attended by Southern Baptist Conventions from different parts of the Philippines, namely; Luzon Convention of Southern Baptist Churches, Central Philippines Convention of Southern Baptist Churches, Philippine Tribal Convention of Southern Baptist Churches, Inc., Convention in Visayas and Mindanao of Southern Baptist Churches Inc., and Peninsula Baptist Convention. The 6th gathering demonstrates unity in diversity as we come together for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
We are also grateful that the Philippine Tribal Convention is looking forward to the 7th Federation, which will be held in Davao City in 2029. We rejoice that Rev. Ben Embaan was selected to serve as Vice President.
We give thanks to God for the privilege and opportunity to participate in this historic gathering. We continue to pray for the Federation, its leaders, and all the associations represented—that God will strengthen us, unite us, and enable us to continue reaching the unreached and advancing His Kingdom.
To God be the Glory. Dalaygon ang Dios!
