Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Jesus Christ.” In scripture, when the Lord comes before Jesus Christ it emphasizes His deity. If Jesus comes first it emphasises His humanity. When Christ comes first it emphasizes God’s purpose and plan for each of us. Here the emphasis is obviously on the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ. “the same” The stability of Christ. How do you know a stabilized person in the royal priesthood on earth? They are identified very easily because they are supergrace believers, they are mature believers. By using the intensive pronoun, we identify the most stabilized of all. It is Jesus Christ who is the same. “Yesterday” refers to the Lord Jesus Christ during the first advent. “today.” It refers to the Age of Grace and the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ is now at the right hand of the Father. He still has the perfect ability, perfect consistency, and perfect stability. “and forever“ He will be unique, forever He will be the God-Man, forever He is eternal God and true humanity in the resurrection body, and that will never change.

2 Corinthians 5:7-8
For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” Faith is not only a non-meritorious system of perception by which we enter salvation, and it is not only the principle of phase two, but faith has another concept. The faith is doctrine; in that sense the faith or doctrine keeps the scar tissue out of the soul so that light comes in. Sight is human viewpoint. “We are confident” we keep on having confidence How can we have confidence? You think well with doctrine. It is taking mental delight in. “I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” This is a progression. You don’t start out by having confidence concerning death, that is where you wind up after the intake of doctrine. You have confidence about something that people in general do not have confidence about dying.

1 Corinthians 15:53-54
For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“For the perishable” is the body of the dead believer, the bodies of those whose souls and spirits are in the presence of the Lord; “must clothe itself with the imperishable.” What is imperishable? The resurrection body for one who has already died. “and the mortal with immortality” What is a mortal? One who is still alive in his body; Imperishable and Immortality are the same thing as a resurrection body but the two terms differentiate the mechanics for receiving the same, when this takes place. “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then [reference to the Rapture] the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” The saying is written in Isaiah 25:8 which, by the way, covers the doctrine of resurrection from the Old Testament standpoint. The words “swallowed up” means to drink down in the sense of annihilating it.

Romans 5:3-4
We also glory in tribulations knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

“We also glory in tribulations” means to boast, to pride oneself in a thing or about a person, to demonstrate esprit décor. “knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;” This means endurance, fortitude, and steadfastness (honorable courage). The mature believer produces the verb’s action through the doctrine resident in his soul. And have attained maturity adjustment to the justice of God. “and perseverance, character;” It means the quality of being improved, hence the character of integrity. “and character, hope.” It means proven character or demonstrated integrity. Here is the principle. For believers who are growing, the justice of God must provide undeserved suffering as part of our advance to maturity and as maturity as an appreciation of God’s integrity.
