Philippians 4:6 – “Do not be anxious about anything…”

Measure your love in Christ through His Word.. ( that's what matters most)
Revelation 2:2-5 ESV

I. God knew everything about you and your spiritual condition.
"'I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. [3] I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary.

II. God knew also, you abandoned Him and His word
[4] But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

III. REPENT today..

[5] Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
Good morning everyone.
God bless.

Psalm 101:1-8 NASB
I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, Lord, I will sing praises. [2] I will carefully attend to the blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart. [3] I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. [4] A perverse heart shall leave me; I will know no evil. [5] Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; I will not endure one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart. [6] My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; One who walks in a blameless way is one who will serve me. [7] One who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; One who speaks lies shall not maintain his position before me. [8] Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to eliminate from the city of the Lord all those who do injustice.
Good morning everyone

📖 Biblical Reflection on Luke 16:19–31

📜 1. Literary Context

This passage appears in the Gospel of , where Jesus is addressing:

The Pharisees (Luke 16:14), who were lovers of money

His disciples, teaching about stewardship, eternity, and the Kingdom of God

This story follows:

The Parable of the Unjust Steward (Luke 16:1–13)

A rebuke of the Pharisees’ love for wealth

👉 Therefore, this is not an isolated story—it is part of Jesus’ warning about misuse of wealth and spiritual blindness.

🌍 2. Historical & Cultural Context

In first-century Judaism:

Wealth was often seen as a sign of God’s blessing

Poverty was sometimes viewed as judgment

Jesus reverses this expectation:

The rich man is condemned

Lazarus (a poor beggar) is comforted

📌 The name “Lazarus” (Eleazar) means “God is my help”—the only named character in Jesus’ parables.

🔍 3. Exegesis (Verse-by-Verse Insight)

🟣 Verses 19–21 – Earthly Contrast

The rich man lives in luxury (“purple and fine linen”)

Lazarus is:

Poor

Sick

Ignored

Dependent on scraps

👉 Key Insight: The sin is not merely wealth—but indifference and lack of compassion.

🔴 Verses 22–23 – Sudden Reversal

Lazarus is carried to “Abraham’s bosom” (place of comfort)

The rich man is in torment

👉 Death reveals true spiritual condition, not outward status.

🔵 Verses 24–26 – Fixed Destiny

The rich man cries for mercy

Abraham explains:

A great chasm is fixed

No crossing between heaven and hell

👉 Doctrine:

Eternal destiny is final after death

No second chance

🟡 Verses 27–31 – Warning Ignored

The rich man asks for Lazarus to warn his brothers

Abraham replies:

“They have Moses and the Prophets”

If they reject Scripture, they will not believe even a resurrection

👉 This foreshadows the rejection of Jesus Himself.

🔥 4. Theological Themes

1. Reality of Eternal Judgment

Jesus clearly teaches the existence of:

Conscious suffering after death

Eternal separation from God

2. Sufficiency of Scripture

God’s Word is enough for salvation

Miracles do not guarantee repentance

3. Danger of Hardness of Heart

The rich man:

Saw Lazarus daily

Yet remained unmoved

👉 Sin is often not ignorance—but indifference

4. Reversal in God’s Kingdom

God’s justice overturns human expectations:

The humble are lifted

The proud are brought low

💡 5. Biblical Reflection (Application)

🙏 Personal Reflection Questions

Am I trusting in wealth or in God?

Do I ignore the needs of people around me?

Do I take Scripture seriously, or wait for signs?

❤️ Spiritual Lessons

Life is short—eternity is long

Compassion is a mark of true faith

Salvation must be responded to now, not later

The Word of God is sufficient—do not harden your heart

📖 6. Christ-Centered Reflection

This passage ultimately points to Jesus Christ:

Like Lazarus, Christ was rejected and suffered

Unlike Lazarus, Christ rose from the dead

Yet many still do not believe

👉 The greatest tragedy is not poverty—but rejecting Christ despite clear revelation

🪔 Conclusion (Pastoral Exhortation)

Luke 16:19–31 is not just a story—it is a warning.

Wealth cannot save

Status cannot save

Religion without repentance cannot save

Only a heart that listens to God’s Word and turns to Christ will be saved.

Biblical Conviction
Galatians 5:16-18 ESV
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. [17] For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. [18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Good morning and God bless.
