Title: HOW TO BECOME SPIRITUAL?
Main Passage: 1 Cor. 3:1-3 KJV

BREAKING DOWN MAN'S CONSTITUTIONAL NATURE

According to the revelation of Scripture, man is composed of spirit, soul and body. (1 Thess. 5:23) With his spirit, he relates with the realm that is unseen (spirit realm) by way of perception. Perception is the ability to discern the impulses of the spirit. The soul is what gives interpretation and description to that impulse or prompting. Therefore, the soul must be renewed by the Word in order to interpret correctly every impulse the spirit of man receives from the spiritual realm. The body is what carries out the information processed by the mind. With the help of the five physical senses, he uses such to relate with the material world; to act out what the mind meditates.

Therefore we can summarize this teaching by saying this: man is primarily a spirit, who possesses soulical faculties to help him interpret the activities of the spiritual realm, and a body to execute what the mind decides to do.

Title: HOW TO BECOME SPIRITUAL?
Main Passage: 1 Cor. 3:1-3 KJV

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BECOME SPIRITUAL?

- To be spiritual means you are walking according to the dictates and promptings of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks to us, believers, through our spirit (Rom. 8:16 KJV) and according to the Word of God (John 15:26 KJV). He will never speak contrary to His Word and will never dishonour the Person of Jesus.

- To be spiritual also means that you are aware of the diverse operations and activities that are happening in the realm of the spirit. Whether such activity or message is of God or the demonic. Therefore, test every spirit (1 John 4:1 KJV).

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

• Romans 1:16-17 KJV
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

• 2 Corinthians 15:17-21 KJV
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1. Prophet Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-24 KJV)

The widow welcomed and honored the prophet Elijah by giving him a cup of water and a morsel of bread. This made a way for God’s miracle upon her household. What she thought was their last meal became an abundant supply of flour and oil. Her son who had serious sickness was also revived as Elijah prayed for him.

2. Zacchaeus Joyfully Received Jesus into his House (Luke 19:1-10KJV)

Zacchaeus did not only welcome Jesus to his house but he received Him joyfully and His ministry by submitting himself to what he knew Jesus would want him to do—share his goods to the poor and restore the unjust taxes he collected. As a result, Jesus proclaimed, “Today salvation has come to this house.”

3. The Anointing of Mary of Bethany to Jesus (Matthew 26:6-13 KJV)

She anointed Jesus with costly fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair. Because of this, Jesus commended her act and ordered that wherever the gospel shall be preached, what she has done must be told as a memorial to her.

4. The Thief Beside Jesus on the Cross (Luke 23:39-43 KJV)

He rebuked the other thief who mocked Jesus and pleaded Him, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom”. "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise", Jesus promised him. He received eternal life because of his honor and faith to the Messiah.

5. Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum (Luke 10:13-16 KJV)

The impenitent or unrepentant cities. They rejected Jesus’ message despite witnessing miracles. As a consequence, they became a byword for divine judgment and extreme sinfulness in Jewish and Christian tradition.

6. The Pharisees and the Sadducees’ Rejection of Jesus (Matthew 12, 16:1-12 KJV)

Both parties rejected Jesus as Messiah, denying themselves what He brings—salvation. Both conspired to have Him killed—Pharisees because He challenged their view of God’s law, and the Saducees because He challenged their authority.
And the list goes on.

1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
