Almost Saved is Still Lost | LJORGMI Weekly Devotion
You can sit in church every Sunday, it doesn’t make you saved.
Harsh? Maybe.
True? Absolutely.
Salvation isn't about proximity to God, it's about surrender to Him. A lot of people know about Jesus. They can quote verses, sing the songs, even serve in ministry. But knowing the menu isn't the same as eating the meal.
The question is simple, but uncomfortable:
Have you experienced salvation, or have you just observed it? Jesus didn’t die to make you religious. He died to make you redeemed.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…” – Matthew 7:21
--
That verse hits differently when you realize, it's possible to say the right words and still miss the point.
Salvation is not a family inheritance, a cultural identity, a Sunday routine. It is a personal, life-altering encounter with grace. And grace? It's not cheap. It cost a cross.
Here's the tension, we want a Savior, but not a Lord. We want forgiveness, but not transformation. We want heaven, but still cling tightly to earth. But Jesus doesn't do half-salvation. You’re either all in… or still holding back.
Think about this: If your life hasn't changed, has your heart really been saved? Because when salvation is real, it shows. Not in perfection, but in direction. You start to hate what you used to love. You start to love what you used to ignore. You start to become someone you couldn't be on your own. That's not self-improvement. That's resurrection power.
So today, don't just believe in Jesus, belong to Him.
Reflection Questions:
1. Am I following Jesus, or just familiar with Him?
2. If someone looked at my life, would they see evidence of salvation?
3. What am I still holding back from God?
