AWIT joins the celebration of International Working Women’s Day at the Institute of Formation and Religious Studies, standing in solidarity with women of faith and courage.

With the theme “Women of Faith: Persist. Resist. Fight for Life!”, we remember the powerful witness of biblical women like Shiphrah and Puah who resisted oppression, Deborah who defended justice and the persistent widow who refused to be silenced.

Faith is a force for resistance. It persists in hope, resists injustice and fights for life in all its fullness. As ecumenical women and allies, may we continue to raise our voices and stand with those whose dignity and rights are threatened. Today we celebrate not only women’s strength, but the sacred calling to struggle together for justice, peace and life. ✊🏽💜

Kami ay nakikiisa sa paggunita ng ika-40 anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power.

Ang EDSA ay hindi lamang nagbigay-daan sa pagbagsak ng diktadura kundi nagbukas din ito ng espasyo para sa kababaihan na magsalita, manindigan at makilahok sa paghubog ng bayan.

Bilang mga kasapi ng Association of Women in Theology, kinikilala namin na ang pananampalataya ay may malinaw na panig. Panig ng buhay, panig ng katarungan at panig ng mga inaapi. Ang aming pakikiisa ay pakikiisa sa mga kababaihang patuloy na humaharap sa karahasan, kahirapan at sistemikong diskriminasyon at sa lahat ng patuloy na lumalaban para sa katotohanan at demokrasya.

Pinipili naming alalahanin ang nakaraan upang managot sa kasalukuyan at kumilos para sa hinaharap. Ang alaala ay hindi pagtatapos, kundi simula ng patuloy na pakikibaka.

Nakikiisa kami para sa kababaihan, para sa bayan at para sa pananampalatayang may gawa.
