During the April 2026 General Conference, a phrase from Sis. Yee truly caught my attention. “When we feel loved and seen by Him, it changes everything. And when we bless the one, we bless the whole.” This quote affirms that everything starts between you and Him. Improve, feel His love, His presence, His holiness, and everything follows—then you’ll realize you are becoming His son/daughter that helps Him gather the seemingly lost and dejected people. And I believe that as you show love and appreciation to those people, it impacts them. You may not see it through them, but deep within, they feel it. When that feeling comes within them, it may make them feel lighter or their day much happier, which results in them treating others better—with kindness and love. A chain reaction, you may call it.
As a youth that strives to gather and help people in Zion, we experience activities such as ministering and missionary work, and I can say that it takes a lot of courage and nerves. In Sis. Yee’s speech (18th paragraph), there was a young sister that often feels nervous during ministering because she doesn’t know how others will respond. Yet when asked how that sister worked through that, she smiled and answered, “I go—and it usually turns out much better than I thought.”
I testify that as you speak and perform activities that include showing love and help to other people, the Lord helps and guides us. Just open your mouth, speak what comes to your mind, and He has got your back—He will not abandon you. It’s normal to feel nervous, yet don’t let your fear eat you. You eat your fear. Lucky for me, I ate it whole and left no crumbs. I love helping and inviting people to come to church!
Sister Yee’s message teaches that ministering is a way of becoming like the Savior—loving and caring for others in a personal and Christlike way. It is not just a duty but a way of life. As we reach out, help and serve others, we become instruments in the Lord’s hands, and both they and we are blessed with peace, healing, and belonging.
I know all these things are true, and I leave all these things in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
