“Behold, Jesus is always with us.”

The Ascension is not the story of Jesus leaving His people behind. It is the fulfillment of His promise to remain with us in a deeper and greater way. Though He ascended into Heaven, Christ continues to guide, strengthen, and accompany His Church.

When the disciples watched Jesus ascend, they were not abandoned—they were being prepared. The Lord who was once beside them would now dwell within them through the Holy Spirit. His physical presence was lifted to Heaven, but His love and power would reach every nation, every generation, and every wounded heart.

The Ascension reminds us that Jesus reigns in glory, yet remains close to His people. He is with us in the Holy Eucharist, in every prayer, in moments of suffering, and in the mission of the Church.

The Lord who ascended is the same Lord who still whispers to us:
“Do not be afraid. I am with you always.”

I'M A CATholic! NOW AND FOREVER!

Here’s a lighthearted but meaningful reminder from the Brotherhood of St. Joseph—featuring a “CATholic” friend to brighten our day and deepen our faith. 🐱🙏

Being a “CATholic” may sound playful, but it carries a beautiful truth: we are called to live our faith with joy, simplicity, and trust—much like the quiet, gentle presence of a cat. Just as this little creature rests peacefully and confidently, we too are invited to rest in God’s love, knowing that He provides for us and watches over us in every moment.

Through the intercession of Saint Joseph, may we learn humility, obedience, and steadfast faith. He lived a hidden life, yet his quiet “yes” to God shaped salvation history. In the same way, even our smallest acts of faith—our prayers, sacrifices, and kindness—can have a greater impact than we realize.

So today, let this “CATholic” reminder inspire us: to be proud of our faith, to live it with sincerity, and to share it with love. Not just in words, but in how we treat others, how we endure struggles, and how we remain faithful in both ordinary and difficult times.

Now and forever, may we stand firm in who we are—followers of Christ, guided by His love, and joyfully living as Catholics in the world. 🐾🙏

✝️ “FATHER DID NOT VISIT ME WHEN I WAS SICK…”, BUT WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO SPEAK? 😳

This is a complaint heard everywhere:

👉 “Our priest does not visit the sick.”
👉 “No one came when I was in pain.”

And sometimes…

👉 it is true.

But here is the uncomfortable truth many avoid:

👉 The responsibility is not only the priest’s.

✝️ 1. THE CHURCH IS A BODY… NOT A ONE-MAN MINISTRY

A parish is not run by one person.

It is:

the priest
the catechists
the leaders
the faithful

All working together.

So when someone is sick…

👉 it is not only “Father’s duty.”
👉 It is the Church’s duty.

✝️ 2. THE PRIEST CANNOT VISIT WHAT HE DOES NOT KNOW

Let’s be honest.

Many expect the priest to:

know every home
know every illness
know every absence

But how?

👉 He is not present in every street.
👉 He is not informed automatically.

So when no one tells him:

👉 silence becomes the reason for absence.

✝️ 3. THIS IS WHERE THE COMMUNITY MUST ACT

This is the work of:

catechists
pious groups
parish leaders
family members

When someone is:

sick

absent

struggling

👉 their names should be communicated.

👉 “This person is sick.”
👉 “This member needs a visit.”

From there:

👉 the information reaches the priest.

✝️ 4. THE PRIEST’S ROLE IS SACRAMENTAL, AND IT IS SERIOUS

When informed…

👉 the priest has a duty.

To:

visit
hear confession
anoint the sick
bring Holy Communion

Because the sick are not forgotten.

👉 They are still part of the Body.

This is why the Church carries the Eucharist to them.

👉 To say: “You are still one with us.”

✝️ 5. THE EUCHARIST GOES OUT… BECAUSE THE CHURCH DOES NOT ABANDON

After Mass, the priest or deacon may carry:

👉 the consecrated Host

to those who could not come.

This is not a small gesture.

👉 It is a powerful message:

👉 “Even in your weakness… you are still united to Christ and His Church.”

✝️ 6. WHERE WE MUST CORRECT OURSELVES

Let’s speak plainly.

Some Catholics:

disappear quietly
fall sick silently
stop attending completely

And no one says anything.

Then later:

👉 the blame is placed entirely on the priest.

That is not justice.

✝️ 7. A LESSON WE MUST LEARN

In many places, other Christian groups:

check on their members
visit them
follow them up

Sometimes even more actively.

And Catholics notice it.

Why?

👉 Because they act as a community.

👉 A priest cannot visit the sick alone…
👉 but a community that cares will never leave its members unseen.

✝️ SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

Belong to a pious group
Watch out for one another
Report sickness or absence
Visit and support each other

And for priests:

👉 once informed…

👉 respond with care and urgency.

✝️ BECAUSE THIS IS THE REAL TRUTH

The Church is not only present:

👉 at the altar

It is present:

👉 in homes
👉 in sickness
👉 in suffering

And when we act together…

👉 no member is forgotten.

THE ROAD TO EMMAUS IS A REMINDER THAT JESUS IS WALKING BESIDE US IN OUR JOURNEYS

The road to Emmaus is more than just a journey taken by two disciples—it is a reflection of our own life with Christ. In the Gospel, the disciples walked away from Jerusalem carrying disappointment, confusion, and sorrow. They believed that everything they had hoped for in Jesus had come to an end. Yet, in the very moment they felt most lost, Jesus Himself drew near and walked with them.

This is the heart of the message: Jesus does not wait for us to have perfect faith before He comes close. He meets us right where we are—in our doubts, fears, and struggles. Even when we fail to recognize His presence, He remains beside us, patiently listening and guiding us. Many times in our lives, we ask, “Where is God?” especially when things do not go as we planned. The story of Emmaus answers that question gently but clearly: He is with us, walking the same road we walk.

As the journey continues, Jesus begins to explain the Scriptures, helping the disciples understand that their suffering was not meaningless, but part of a greater plan. In the same way, God speaks to us through His Word, giving light to our confusion and meaning to our struggles. What once seemed like an end becomes, in His presence, a new beginning.

The most powerful moment happens at the table, in the breaking of the bread. It is there that their eyes are opened, and they finally recognize Him. This reminds us of the Holy Eucharist, where Jesus continues to reveal Himself to us today. Every Mass becomes our own Emmaus experience—where we listen, encounter, and are transformed.

After recognizing Jesus, the disciples do not remain the same. Their sadness turns into joy, and they immediately go back to share the Good News. This shows that a true encounter with Christ always leads to mission. When we realize that He has been with us all along, our hearts are renewed, and we are moved to share that hope with others.

In our daily lives, the road to Emmaus teaches us to trust, even when we do not understand. It invites us to be aware of Christ’s quiet presence—in prayer, in Scripture, in the Eucharist, and even in the people we meet. Above all, it reminds us that we are never alone. Jesus walks with us, not only in moments of joy, but especially in the times we feel weakest—leading us always toward light, hope, and new life. ✨

Ang Pastoral Community o minsan ay tinatawag na Pastoral Core Group ay ang puso ng isang Catholic Community sa loob ng subdivision. Binubuo ito ng iba’t ibang layworkers mula sa mga organisasyon at ministries ng parokya, at lalong lalo na rin ng mga boluntaryong residente o "servants" na kusang naglalaan ng kanilang oras at lakas para maglingkod. Sila ang nagkakaisa upang patatagin ang pananampalataya, gabayan ang komunidad, at maging buhay na halimbawa ng tunay na paglilingkod sa Diyos at kapwa.
