DEO GRATIAS! The Bishop of Legazpi joyfully announces the canonical er****on of the Parish of San Pedro Calungsod in Bascaran, Daraga, Albay on August 17, 2026, during fiesta celebration of Barangay Bascaran.

Recognized as a quasi-parish on September 10, 2023, the community has demonstrated steady growth in faith, active pastoral engagement, and organizational readiness, paving the way for its elevation to full parish status.

The new parish will serve nine barangays - Alobo, Bascaran, Burgos, Gapo, Inarado, Kinawitan, Mabini, Tabon-Tabon, and Talahib.

The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Canonical Er****on will be presided over by The Most Rev. Joel Z. Baylon, D.D., Bishop of Legazpi, at 9:00 am on August 17, 2026 at San Pedro Calungsod Parish Church in Bascaran, Daraga.

We cannot let this moment pass without thanking you for your unwavering dedication, spiritual guidance, and selfless service to our parish / barangay. Your insightful homilies, compassionate heart and tireless efforts in bringing the Sacraments closer to the people have deeply inspired and strengthened our faith.

While we will deeply miss your leadership, we are genuinely excited for the new priests and future shepherds whose formation you will help to shape at the seminary.
