God teaches us to value the sacred bonds of love, faithfulness, and commitment. Through the witness of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, may we also learn to live with courage, selflessness, and love for others.

Memorial of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Priest and Martyr ✨

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Priest and Martyr, a Franciscan priest who dedicated his life to spreading devotion to the Immaculate Virgin Mary and proclaiming the Gospel. With deep faith and love for Christ and Mary, he courageously remained faithful during a time of persecution and gave his life in an extraordinary witness of charity and self-sacrifice.

Ang kinabuhi ni Saint Maximilian Kolbe nagpahinumdom kanato nga ang tinuod nga gugma makita sa paghatag sa atong kaugalingon alang sa kaayohan sa uban. Sama kaniya, hinaut nga makat-on kita sa paghigugma kang Kristo ug kang Mama Mary, sa pagtabang sa mga nanginahanglan, ug sa pagpabilin nga matinud-anon sa atong pagtuo bisan pa sa mga kalisdanan.

May his holy example inspire us to live with courage, humility, and charity. May we learn from Saint Maximilian Kolbe to place our trust in God, remain devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and become instruments of love and hope to those around us.

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Pontian, Pope, and Saint Hippolytus, Priest, Martyrs, two faithful servants of Christ who endured persecution and suffering for their faith. Despite their differences, they were eventually reconciled and shared a common witness of faithfulness to Christ, giving their lives in service to the Church.

Ang kinabuhi ni Saint Pontian ug Saint Hippolytus nagpahinumdom kanato nga ang tinuod nga pagtuo nanginahanglan og pagkamapaubsanon, pagpasaylo, ug kaisog sa pagbarog alang kang Kristo. Ang ilang panag-uli ug pag-antus alang sa pagtuo usa ka pahinumdom nga ang grasya sa Diyos makahimo sa pagdala sa panaghiusa bisan taliwala sa mga panaglalis ug kalainan.

May their holy example inspire us to seek reconciliation, remain faithful to Christ, and choose unity and peace within the Church. May we learn from Saints Pontian and Hippolytus to overcome differences with humility and to remain steadfast in our faith, especially during times of trial.

"Not seven times but seventy-seven times."
— Matthew 18:22

Jesus calls us to forgive generously and sincerely. Dili sayon ang pagpasaylo, but God invites us to let go of anger and choose mercy. May we learn to forgive as we ourselves have received forgiveness from God.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord Jesus, give us the grace to forgive from the heart. Heal every hurt within us and help us become people of mercy, peace, and love. Amen.

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal, Religious, a woman of deep faith, prayer, compassion, and perseverance. She founded the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary together with Saint Francis de Sales, dedicating her life to God and to the service of others. Through the joys and trials of her life, she remained steadfast in her trust in God's providence.

Ang kinabuhi ni Saint Jane Frances de Chantal nagpahinumdom kanato nga ang pagkabalaan dili lamang makita sa dagkong mga buhat, kondili usab sa atong matinud-anong pag-alagad, pag-ampo, ug paghigugma sa mga tawo nga gihatag sa Diyos sa atong kinabuhi. Sama kaniya, hinaut nga makat-on kita sa pag-atubang sa mga pagsulay uban ang pailub, pagtuo, ug hingpit nga pagsalig sa Ginoo.

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Clare, Virgin, the foundress of the Order of Poor Ladies, now known as the Poor Clares. A close companion of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Clare lived a life of prayer, simplicity, poverty, and complete trust in God. Through her unwavering faith and love for Christ, she became a shining example of holiness and devotion.

Ang kinabuhi ni Saint Clare nagpahinumdom kanato nga ang tinuod nga kalipay dili makita sa kadagaya sa materyal nga mga butang, kondili sa atong hingpit nga pagsalig ug paghigugma sa Diyos. Sama kaniya, hinaut nga makat-on kita sa pagkinabuhi nga simple, mapainubsanon, matinud-anon sa pag-ampo, ug andam sa pagsunod sa kabubut-on sa Ginoo.

PRIEST DAY 2026 | A Celebration of Gratitude and Love

Yesterday Morning | August 9, 2026

The official celebration of Priest Day was observed on the last Sunday, August 2. However, due to a conflict in the schedules of our dear pastors at Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parish – Danao, the celebration was rescheduled to Sunday, August 9.

Yesterday morning, the Youth Apostolate of Fatima (YAF) joyfully joined the celebration together with the different parish organizations and faithful people of Danao as we gathered to honor, appreciate, and give thanks for the gift of our beloved priests. 🙏

Sa among mga minahal ug matinud-anong pastor, daghang salamat sa inyong walay kakapoy nga pag-alagad, paggiya, pag-ampo, ug pag-atiman sa katawhan sa Diyos. Your dedication and sacrifices continue to inspire us, especially the youth, to grow deeper in faith and serve God and His Church.

🌹 A Special Thanksgiving 🌹

Most especially, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our YAF Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Lyndon B. Ruiz, for his continued guidance, support, prayers, and spiritual accompaniment to the Youth Apostolate of Fatima.

And to, all the pastors and priests serving at Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parish – Danao**, daghang salamat sa inyong matinud-anong pagpangalagad ug sa inyong walay hunong nga pag-atiman sa among parish community.

May the Lord continue to strengthen you in your vocation, grant you wisdom and courage, and bless you with joyful hearts as you continue shepherding God's people.
