The 2027 Youth Theme is officially here!

The theme of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration, "Rejoice in Christ," has also been selected as the Church's 2027 youth theme, giving young people around the world an additional opportunity to focus on the Savior throughout the year.

Around 3,000 food packs were turned over by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Services through the Dagupan Philippines Stake. The relief goods will be distributed to families in Dagupan City who were affected by recent flooding.

What made the effort special was the spirit of service behind it. Members from the Dagupan Philippines Stake came together to repack the relief goods, working side-by-side to ensure each pack was ready for distribution. Joining them were members of the Dagupan 7th Ward, who also volunteered their time and effort to help.

From hauling and sorting to packing and sealing, the volunteers showed what bayanihan looks like in action โ€” no task too small when itโ€™s for the community.

The Church continues to work with local stakes to provide timely relief to communities in need, and these 3,000 packs are now ready to bring much-needed support to Dagupan families as they recover.

Despite the high floodwaters surrounding the chapel, nothing could prevent Brother John Michael Ayap from taking an important step in his journey of faith. On August 29, 2026, Brother Ayap was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His determination to proceed with the ordinance, despite the challenging conditions outside the chapel, became a powerful reminder that faith can remain strong even in the midst of difficult circumstances.

The baptism and confirmation marked a meaningful milestone in Brother Ayapโ€™s spiritual journey. While floodwaters covered the area outside the chapel, the sacred ordinance inside continued as planned, reflecting his commitment to follow Jesus Christ and enter into the covenant of baptism. His experience stands as a testimony that when individuals exercise faith and remain steadfast, obstaclesโ€”even rising floodwatersโ€”need not stand in the way of making sacred covenants with God.

On August 16, 2026, four individualsโ€”Brother Aljur Garcia, Sister Sophia Manaois, Brother Jonathan Magbanua, and Brother Paulo Ramosโ€”were baptized and confirmed as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite nearly two weeks of continuous rain and another rainy afternoon, many members, friends, and loved ones gathered to support the baptismal candidates. The ward leaders initially expected only a few attendees because of the weather, but the turnout was much greater than anticipated. The baptismal room originally prepared for the program quickly proved too small to accommodate everyone, so the service was moved to the sacrament hall. What could have been a quiet gathering became a beautiful demonstration of faith, love, and unity as members came together to witness and support these important steps in the lives of the four candidates.

The baptismal service was further strengthened by a special musical presentation from the ward Relief Society, which added a powerful and reverent spirit to the occasion. Each of the newly baptized members also shared their testimonies, expressing their faith in Jesus Christ and their sincere decision to accept His gospel into their lives. Their baptism represents more than a ceremonyโ€”it is a sacred covenant and a beginning of a new life centered on the Savior. Their testimonies, together with the overwhelming support of the ward members, served as a reminder that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings people together and that no amount of rain or difficulty can diminish the joy that comes from choosing to follow the Savior. The day became a memorable celebration of faith, conversion, and new beginnings for Brother Aljur, Sister Sophia, Brother Jonathan, and Brother Paulo.

The Dagupan 7th Ward Primary successfully held its "Little Hands, Big Service" activity on August 1, 2026, under the leadership of Ward Primary President Sister Cherry Fernando. The activity began with inspiring opening remarks from Bishop Ryan Peralta, who quoted the Primary song "Dare to Do Right" and reminded the children that they can become heroes by choosing to do what is right and by serving others. He also emphasized the timeless teaching found in Mosiah 2:17: "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God," encouraging the Primary children to develop Christlike hearts through simple acts of service.

Following the devotional, the Primary children eagerly participated in cleaning the chapel, demonstrating that even small hands can make a meaningful difference. Afterward, Sister Kyla Manuel taught the children about the importance of proper hygiene before guiding them in repacking hygiene kits to be distributed to other Primary children in the ward. The activity concluded with everyone gathering to enjoy a sumptuous meal together, strengthening friendships and creating lasting memories. Through this meaningful experience, the children learned that serving others, caring for God's house, and showing kindness are wonderful ways to follow the example of Jesus Christ.
