On August 16, 2026, four individualsโBrother Aljur Garcia, Sister Sophia Manaois, Brother Jonathan Magbanua, and Brother Paulo Ramosโwere baptized and confirmed as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite nearly two weeks of continuous rain and another rainy afternoon, many members, friends, and loved ones gathered to support the baptismal candidates. The ward leaders initially expected only a few attendees because of the weather, but the turnout was much greater than anticipated. The baptismal room originally prepared for the program quickly proved too small to accommodate everyone, so the service was moved to the sacrament hall. What could have been a quiet gathering became a beautiful demonstration of faith, love, and unity as members came together to witness and support these important steps in the lives of the four candidates.
The baptismal service was further strengthened by a special musical presentation from the ward Relief Society, which added a powerful and reverent spirit to the occasion. Each of the newly baptized members also shared their testimonies, expressing their faith in Jesus Christ and their sincere decision to accept His gospel into their lives. Their baptism represents more than a ceremonyโit is a sacred covenant and a beginning of a new life centered on the Savior. Their testimonies, together with the overwhelming support of the ward members, served as a reminder that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings people together and that no amount of rain or difficulty can diminish the joy that comes from choosing to follow the Savior. The day became a memorable celebration of faith, conversion, and new beginnings for Brother Aljur, Sister Sophia, Brother Jonathan, and Brother Paulo.
