A meaningful gathering of hearts devoted to serving God through His Word. ๐Ÿ“–

Yesterday, the Ministry of Readers came together for our General Ministry Meetingโ€”a simple yet meaningful time of fellowship, prayer, reflection, and strengthening our commitment to serve.

Although only a few were able to attend due to the flooding still affecting some areas of the city, we are grateful for each one who made the effort to be present. Truly, it is not the number that matters, but the willingness to come together and continue serving despite the circumstances.

May we continue to grow together, support one another, and proclaim Godโ€™s Word with faith, reverence, love, and joyful hearts.

๐‘ญ๐’‚๐’Š๐’•๐’‰ ๐‘น๐’†๐’‡๐’๐’†๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐’๐’‡ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐‘พ๐’†๐’†๐’Œ

The Gospel today reminds us that forgiveness is not something we should limit or count. When Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive, Jesus answered, "seventy-seven times," teaching us that forgiveness should be given generously, just as God continually forgives us.

The parable of the unforgiving servant will also makes us reflect on how easily we can ask for understanding and forgiveness when we make mistakes, yet sometimes struggle to extend the same grace to others. God has forgiven us for so many things, even when we do not deserve it, so we are also called to forgive those who have hurt or wronged us.

Forgiving does not mean forgetting what happened or saying that the hurt was okay; it means choosing not to let anger and resentment control our hearts.

This Gospel encourages us to become more patient, understanding, and compassionate.
Whenever we find it difficult to forgive someone, I hope we remember how much God has forgiven us. May we learn to release our anger, choose mercy, and forgive sincerely, trusting that God will also help heal the parts of our heart that have been hurt.

September 8 marks the joyful celebration of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Maryโ€”the woman whose life would become a beautiful testament to faith, humility, and complete surrender to God. Her humble beginnings remind us that God can bring forth something extraordinary from even the simplest beginnings.

As we rejoice in Maryโ€™s Nativity, may her life inspire us to trust the purpose God has prepared for each of us. May we carry her gentle strength and faithful heart in our own journey, always remembering that a sincere โ€œyesโ€ to God can become the beginning of something truly meaningful.

In todayโ€™s Gospel, Jesus tells us, โ€œIf your brother or sister listens to you, you have won them over.โ€

This reminds us that reconciliation begins with the courage to reach out, the humility to listen, and the willingness to understand one another. Sometimes, misunderstandings, conflicts, and hurt can create distance between us, but Jesus reminds us not to give up on restoring our relationships.

As proclaimers of Godโ€™s Word, we are called not only to speak, but also to listen with patience and compassion. This is especially meaningful as we observe September as a time to raise awareness about su***de prevention and mental health. We may never know what someone is silently going through. A simple โ€œKamusta ka?โ€ or โ€œAndito lang akoโ€ can remind someone that they are valued and not alone.

May we always choose forgiveness over pride, understanding over judgment, and reconciliation over distance. May we be instruments of healing, bringing people closer to one another and closer to God.

In todayโ€™s Gospel, Jesus tells us: โ€œWhoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.โ€

Jesus reminds us that following Him is not always easy. There will be problems, sacrifices, and times when we feel tired or discouraged. But He asks us not to give up.

Our cross may be our family problems, struggles at school/work, financial difficulties, disappointments, loneliness, uncertainties, sickness, or simply the daily challenges of life. We can offer these things to Jesus and trust that He is always with us.

Let us not be afraid of our crosses. Let us carry them with Jesus and trust in His love.
