PASA LOVE is the serving ministry of Full Life FULL LIFE Baptist Fellowship Fellowship. This is the ministry that helps out people in many practical ways. This is about showing God’s love in action. One particular event of this ministry is the STOP OVER during Holy Week.
During the Holy Week, many people would walk to different churches as part of what is called as Visita Iglesia (Church Visitation). The people would walk beginning from Maunday Thursday to Good Friday. The idea is to visit seven churches and pray. There are many of them who would walk coming as far Alaminos City to Manaoag which is about 70 kilometers. These people would just walk carrying with them extra clothes, some food and water.
Since our church is along the highway, we often see them walking past our church. It was then that we decided to help in anyway this people. We decided to offer them free rice porridge and free refill of cold water. But it wasn’t ministering to their physical needs. We ask them to sit awhile and while taking a rest we would also share the gospel to them. And we would pray for them for God’s protection and enlightenment as they go to their churches.
This year, 2023, we have many volunteers. Most of them are new to this ministry. We were not able to do this for several years due to the pandemic. But this year we are all excited to do this again. Our volunteers range from kids to senior citizens.
The team is divided into three teams: Cooks, servers, and sharers. Cooks are the ones in charge of preparing and cooking the arrozcaldo (rice porridge). Servers are those who calls out and meets those people who are walking and offering the arrozcaldo. Ans sharers are those who are sharing the gospel and praying for them.
This night, we had fed at least 900 people and where the gospel are shared. For these people their body and soul were replenished. And for our team, the call to serve becomes a burning passion.
