“The best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth,” he said. “So the purpose of ‘For the Strength of Youth’ is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel — the truth about who you are, who He is and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.”

“No monster of the sea could break them,
neither whale that could mar them;
and they did have light continually,
whether it was above the water or under the water” (Ether 6:10).

🐉 Sea monsters?
🐋 Whales capsizing a ship?
🏊‍♀️ Drowning in the ocean?
It all sounds dramatic! So why mention that they had light?

💡Because light IS the answer.

I have witnessed that light pouring out from the brilliant faces of the youth across the world, saturating the very room they sit in.

They are here because they were prepared to be here.

And that light they are drenched in?

That is the powerfully piercing light of Jesus Christ, the light that can dispel all evil.

📖 The new For the Strength of Youth guide will:

⭐️ STRENGTHEN our youth’s relationship with heaven.

⭐️ HELP them receive the Savior's invitation to come and “learn of me" (Matthew 11:29).

⭐️ PREPARE our young warriors to “survive spiritually” by learning to hear the “guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost” (President Russell M. Nelson, “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives,” general conference, Apr. 2018).

Thus acting as a shield and a sword for the youth as they immerse themselves in the light of Jesus Christ, a light no darkness can overpower.

Missionary work is the most important work in the world. I know that through the missionaries who help bring people to Christ, the gospel continues to be shared all around the world. I know that we each can be a part of this great work.

Here are some of the pictures we took of our monthly meeting from January to June 2022.

We meet the young women adult officers and class presidencies of Dagupan Philippines Stake monthly, who are happily and actively participating in the work of salvation and exaltation.

We aim to inspire and motivate each other during these meetings through our efforts and example. It is easier to understand and work on our responsibility when others show us how. To know that you are not alone in this work and to be working alongside your fellow women makes work fulfilling. Hence, we become more persevering in doing the Lord's work.

Kudos to all the Young women adult officers and the class presidencies of Dagupan Philippines Stake, who magnify their callings, help our young women cultivate and grow their testimonies and who are really making a great difference in the life of the youth.

President Hinckley said, "the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others". Thus, we will continue to keep this work moving forward.
