The Diocesan Commission on Youth – Diocese of Talibon warmly invites all interested young people to prayerfully discern and begin their journey to the 41st International World Youth Day in Seoul, South Korea.

If you believe God may be calling you to this once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage, we encourage you to take the first step by joining our diocesan delegation.

🗓️ Deadline for Online Pre-Registration: July 31, 2026

Only those who complete the online pre-registration within the prescribed period will proceed to the next phase of the application process.

📌 Pilgrimage Requirements

✔️ Attend the delegation orientation (schedule to be announced)
✔️ Secure an endorsement from your Parish Priest or Spiritual Youth Director
✔️ Be at least 18 years old by July 2027 (preferably a college graduate)
✔️ Have a passport valid until January 2028
✔️ Be eligible to obtain a South Korea visa
✔️ Be financially capable of covering pilgrimage expenses
✔️ Commit to participating in all formation activities and follow the diocesan pilgrimage guidelines before, during, and after WYD

📋 Diocesan Screening Process

All pre-registered applicants will undergo a prayerful screening and interview process conducted by the Diocesan Commission on Youth. The screening will include:

🔹 Verification of the required application forms and supporting documents
🔹 Endorsement from the Parish Priest or Spiritual Youth Director
🔹 Assessment of active participation in the Parish, Vicariate, School, Campus, or Youth Ministry
🔹 Personal interview and discernment of the applicant's readiness to represent the Diocese of Talibon
🔹 Commitment to attend all formation activities and preparations leading to WYD Seoul 2027

The screening process seeks to ensure that each pilgrim is spiritually, pastorally, and personally prepared to represent our local Church in this international gathering of young Catholics.

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, Eternal High Priest, sanctify Your priests and fill their hearts with Your love, humility, and holiness. Strengthen them in their ministry, protect them from every temptation, and make them faithful servants of Your people. May they become true reflections of Your mercy, bringing souls closer to You through their words, actions, and example.

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, grant that all priests may grow in holiness, courage, and devotion. Amen.🙏

In recent decades, the Catholic Church has confronted one of its gravest crises: sexual abuse of minors by a small minority of priests.

Major independent studies confirm this as the leading offense resulting in disciplinary cases, removals from ministry, and legal actions.

According to the landmark John Jay College Report (1950-2002), approximately 4% of U.S. priests (about 4,392 out of 110,000) faced allegations involving over 10,667 victims. Similar patterns appear globally: 4-7% in studies from Germany and Australia. The vast majority of credible cases occurred in the 1960s–1980s.

USCCB/CARA Annual Reports (2004-2023) document over 16,000 credible allegations in the U.S., with payouts in the billions. Over 90% of alleged perpetrators are now deceased, removed, or laicized. New credible cases involving current minors are extremely rare.

Other top offenses leading to removal/laicization include:

2. Persistent disobedience or schism (e.g., public rejection of Church authority).
3. Financial misconduct (embezzlement or misuse of Church funds).
4. Grave violations of celibacy (attempted marriage, concubinage)

The Church has responded with zero-tolerance policies, mandatory background checks, victim support programs, and transparency via annual audits. Pope Francis and bishops worldwide have strengthened protections, emphasizing that even one case is too many.

While these sins have caused profound harm and shaken trust, the overwhelming majority of priests serve faithfully. The scandal highlights the need for ongoing vigilance, prayer, and healing.

The 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 was held at 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗻, 𝗕𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗹 on 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 for 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 from different clusters 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲. Through this opportunity, our 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 were able to take their 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 toward a 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁, a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, and a 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲.

No matter what season you're in, remember this truth: 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒂𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖. Even when the path seems uncertain, 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 are always filled with 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚, 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞, and 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆.

May this verse remind you to 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚, 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊 𝐁𝐘 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇, and 𝑯𝑶𝑳𝑫 𝑶𝑵 to His promises. The future is safest in the hands of the One who created it.
