When Christians refer to Jesus as the Saviour, they are referring to the belief that he gave up his own life to save humans from their sins. Many believe that Jesus was born for this end result:

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
Jesus’ death and resurrection prove to Christians that he is the Saviour

that God promised and the path to salvation. Through Christ’s death on the cross, Christians are saved from eternal damnation and are given the hope of salvation. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus atoned for the sins of humanity, allowing them to be reconciled with God. Christians believe that Christ is the only way to salvation, and that salvation will be for those who believe. In John’s Gospel it is stated that with God’s sacrifice of his only Son, there is salvation and redemption for humanity. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
