📖 Proverbs 1:1–27
PARENTING✨
Love • Sacrifice • Life • Listen💕
Parenting is more than providing food, shelter, or education. It is a God-given calling to shape the heart, guide the soul, and point children toward wisdom. Proverbs begins with a father lovingly instructing his son, reminding us that parenting starts with God’s wisdom and is sustained by love, sacrifice, and intentional guidance.
1️⃣Love
“Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching.” (Proverbs 1:8)
A loving parent teaches because they care.
True love is not merely expressed through affection but through correction, encouragement, and consistent guidance.
Children may not always understand discipline, but loving instruction protects them from making destructive choices.
God Himself disciplines those He loves, and parents reflect God’s heart when they lovingly guide their children.
👑Love your children enough to teach them God’s Word, pray with them, and become an example they can follow.

2️⃣Sacrifice
Proverbs 1:10–19
Parents make sacrifices every day—time, comfort, dreams, and personal desires—for the good of their children.
Sacrificial parenting means standing firm in truth even when it is unpopular. Sometimes saying “no” today protects a child’s future tomorrow.
👑The greatest sacrifice a parent can make is to lead their family toward Christ instead of simply giving them worldly success.
⸻
3️⃣Life
Proverbs 1:20–23
Wisdom calls out publicly because God desires people to choose life instead of destruction.
Parents are called to nurture not only physical life but also spiritual life.
Our greatest responsibility is helping our children know God, love Him, and walk in His ways.
A successful child is not simply one who has achievements, but one who lives with wisdom, integrity, and reverence for the Lord.
👑Teach children that life is found in walking with God, not merely in chasing wealth, popularity, or success.
⸻
4️⃣Listen
Proverbs 1:24–27
One of the saddest truths in Proverbs is that wisdom calls, but many refuse to listen.
Listening is the beginning of wisdom. Children should learn to listen to godly parents, and parents must also listen to God’s voice so they can lead their families well.
Ignoring wise instruction often leads to painful consequences, but listening to God leads to peace and security.
👑A listening heart is a teachable heart. May our homes be filled with people who listen to God and to one another with humility.

🕊️Reflection
Parenting is not about being perfect—it is about faithfully pointing our children toward the perfect Savior. Every word of encouragement, every prayer, every act of discipline done in love, and every sacrifice made for their spiritual growth becomes a seed that God can use.
Whether your children are young or already grown, it is never too late to become a parent who reflects God’s wisdom. Let us ask the Lord to help us love deeply, sacrifice willingly, nurture life faithfully, and listen carefully to His voice.
