YIFI Culasi hosts 19th National Youth Convention, first in Antique

Culasi, Antique — The 19th National Youth Convention (NYC) took place from May 1–4, 2026 in the Diocese of Antique, marking the first time the province has hosted the national gathering.

The day began with an Opening Eucharist (Church dedication), followed by a business session and a biblico-theological reflection on the convention’s theme.

In the evening, a welcome dinner and Labor Day commemoration program were held wherein YIFI Antique President Paul Ryan Lim delivered his welcome message, followed by another message from the former National Youth Executive Council President Vaughn Geuseppe Alviar.

Congressman Raoul Danniel Abellar Manuel then led an input session.

Solidarity messages were delivered by Municipal Vice Mayor Pete Joseph L. Rivera; Ms. Lorna Sumugat, first Diocesan Youth President of Antique (PICYO 1975); Rev. Fr. Mario G. Malan, Diocesan Youth Chaplain; Norman J. Dimacutac, LIFI President and Parish Council Vice Chairperson; Dr. Judy M. Sorsano, WOPIC President and Parish Council General Secretary; Engr. Vhal Amor Nietes, YIFI President and Parish Council Auditor; and Ronald Rey R. Guamen, former NYEC Deputy Treasurer and Parish Council General Treasurer.

The first day concluded with much-anticipated performances, including Talento Aglipayano and Antiqueño Ako by YIFI Culasi, and a fire dance exhibition by YIFI Patnongon.

47th Annual Diocesan Summer Youth Camp 2026

A night of pride, passion, and excellence as our candidates took their big shot at Mr. and Miss YIFI Antique!

Ms. Aprille Anne V. Manalaysay was crowned as Ms. YIFI ANTIQUE 2026 and bagged the awards as best in Interview and best in Creative Casual Wear while

Mr. John Lloyd D. Alojado made a good finish as Top 5 Finalist and bagged the awards as best in Production Number, Best in Creative casual Wear, Best in YIFI Uniform.

The evening also marked a memorable moment as Mr. John Louwenz Española gracefully passed on the crown of Mr. YIFI Antique 2025 to his successor.

And once again, history continues—a back-to-back-to-back victory for Culasi–Poblacion!
