To end the day, the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship came alive during our Badminton Sports Fellowship this afternoon. Truly, today was a celebration of faith, unity, friendship, and joyful service.

𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 | 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

This Ascension Sunday, our hearts were filled with faith, joy, and fellowship as the youth of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente actively served during the Holy Mass as readers and offertory ministers in celebration of Youth Sunday, observed every third Sunday of the month.

Today also marked the culmination of the Vacation Church School Program 2026 - a beautiful reminder of how God continues to guide and nurture our young people through learning, service, and faith formation. Congratulations to all the VCS learners, teachers, volunteers, sponsors, and parents who made this program meaningful and successful.

The celebration continued with a fellowship lunch lovingly sponsored by the YIFI, where everyone shared not only food but also laughter, stories, and stronger bonds in Christ.

The National Cathedral sent its delegate, Ma. Norme Serdeña-Apus, to serve as a youth representative for the 16th IFI General Assembly held last May 6–9, 2026, in the Diocese of Iloilo.

The gathering became a meaningful, fruitful, and spirit-filled experience for all the delegates as they came together in unity, discernment, and service for the mission of the Church. The assembly fostered deeper fellowship, thoughtful discussions, and decisions that strengthened the faith community and helped guide its future ministries and programs.

Three delegates from the YIFI National Cathedral—𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐳𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐚—joyfully joined the 19th National Youth Convention of the Youth of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente, hosted by the Diocese of Antique.

The convention began with a meaningful Holy Eucharist, followed by a Biblico-Theological Reflection on the theme and the opening of business session. Our delegates were warmly recognized during the welcome night, where the host diocese showcased amazing performances.

Day 2 focused on business session and two impactful inputs: the ID System (featuring the YIFI Membership Superhighway and Sacred Archive) and the Organic Farming under the Ecojustice Farms project. The night was filled with fun fellowship activities, allowing delegates from different dioceses and regions to bond and get to know each other.

On Day 3, after the Sunday Mass, the input on Constitutional Amendments was presented, followed by the election, business session and adjourned with the proclamation of the new National Youth Executive Council officers. The evening’s Cultural Night featured vibrant presentations from the 4 regions, capped off by the Act of Commitment.

The final day began with a Thanksgiving Mass, then awarding of certificates.

Our delegates came home with full hearts — honored to have been part of this gathering not only for the learnings, but also grateful for new friendships, and joyful to see familiar faces from different dioceses. The bonds built are truly beyond words.
