Service at the altar is more than an obligation; it is a profound calling. Recently, the Lectors and Commentators Ministry (LCM) of St. Isidore the Worker Parish, under the guidance of Fr. Reagan Guray, gathered at Casa Mamre, Merida, Leyte for a transformative two-day recollection last February 20 - 21, 2026.

Guided by their recollection master, Fr. Julius Balla, they delved into the theological and biblical foundations of their ministry. From navigating the challenges of their roles to embracing true humility, they were reminded that they are not just readers, but vessels of the Word.

The highlight? A symbolic "burning of the papers"—releasing their struggles, exhaustion, and pride into the fire, offering them up to the Lord during their closing Holy Mass. They left not just renewed in their commitment, but refreshed in spirit.

May they continue to proclaim God’s Word with clarity, humility, and love. 🙏✨

PART 2 | What an incredible and inspiring moment this was! Our young people gathered to present and share ways to show love, all part of a task on purposeful love. They reflected on a verse about intentional love, brainstormed how to live it out in school, home, online, and the community. They shared thoughtful ideas, personal stories, and creative suggestions, showing us just how deeply they understand the importance of connection and care. From big gestures to quiet acts of compassion, their insights covered a wide range of ways to spread love, and it was so heartwarming to witness their enthusiasm and openness.This activity not only allowed them to express themselves but also brought us all closer together through the shared value of love.

PART 1 | On the Feast of St. Valentine, youth from various chapels convened at St. Isidore the Worker Parish in Culaba, Biliran, for a day of reflection and spiritual growth. The gathering featured insightful talks on love and vocation, aiming to guide the youth in their personal and spiritual journeys.

Bro. Ronan Terado addressed the dangers of engaging in social media gossip, emphasizing the importance of discernment and caution in online interactions. He reminded the youth that participating in gossip can lead them away from God's love and urged them to be mindful of the stories they share online. "If you engage in social media gossip, the love of God is not there. We should be careful with the stories we share," he stated.

Sis. Jessica Sague spoke about the concept of vocation, encouraging the attendees to discover their true calling by aligning their gifts with God's will. She differentiated vocation from profession or career, explaining that vocation is about understanding "what does God want me to be!" rather than simply focusing on personal desires.

The event, marked by love, rest, and faith, provided a blessed opportunity for the youth to come together, learn, and grow in their understanding of purposeful love and vocation.
