Today’s Gospel (John 17:20-26) gives us one of the most beautiful prayers of Jesus.

Before His suffering and death, Jesus prays not only for His apostles — He prays for us. He says, “May they all be one.”

Jesus knows that division destroys families, friendships, communities, and even the Church.

That is why His prayer is unity rooted in love.

But unity is not always easy. Even at home, simple things can divide us:
“Who finished the rice?”
“Who forgot to charge the cellphone?”
“Who used my towel again?”

Sometimes the cold war in the house lasts longer than the actual problem!

Yet Jesus reminds us today: love is greater than pride.

Real Christians are recognized not by loud prayers alone, but by the way they forgive, understand, and stay united despite imperfections.

The Gospel also tells us that God’s love is not meant to stay hidden. Jesus says that the love of the Father may be in us.

Meaning, when we encourage the discouraged, forgive those who hurt us, help without expecting payment,
and remain faithful even when life is difficult, God becomes visible through us.

Many people today are hungry — not only for food, but for kindness, peace, and acceptance.

A simple smile, a small act of concern, or a sincere “Kamusta ka?” can already become a prayer in action.

Today let us ask ourselves:
“Am I building unity or creating division?”
“Do people feel closer to God because of my life?”

May our families, communities, and parish become living answers to the prayer of Jesus:
“That they may all be one.”
