Every August the Church invites us to turn our gaze in a special way to the Immaculate Heart of Mary — that pure, loving, and sorrowful Heart that beat in perfect union with the Heart of Jesus.

This devotion is not sentimental. It is deeply scriptural and historical. At Fatima, Our Lady showed the three children her Immaculate Heart, crowned with thorns and surrounded by flames of love, asking for reparation and consecration. She promised that in the end, “My Immaculate Heart will triumph.”

The Immaculate Heart is the heart of a mother who never stopped saying “yes” to God — from the Annunciation to the foot of the Cross, and still today as she intercedes for her children. It is a heart that knows joy, sorrow, and unwavering trust.

This month is a beautiful opportunity to:
• Pray the Rosary with special attention to the Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries
• Make acts of reparation for sins committed against her Heart
• Consecrate yourself (or renew your consecration) to the Immaculate Heart
• Wear or display the Miraculous Medal with greater devotion

As we walk through August, may Mary’s Immaculate Heart draw us closer to the Sacred Heart of her Son and teach us how to love as she loves — pure, total, and without reserve.
