The Non-Catholic Faithful (BORN AGAIN) joins the Easter Sunday Mass called "SONRISE: Jesus Christ is Alive" at the People's Palace Gymnasium today, April 5, 2026.

As the sun rises this beautiful morning, we are reminded of the greatest victory ever won—Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. What once seemed like darkness and despair has now been replaced with light, hope, and eternal life. His resurrection is a powerful reminder that no situation is ever beyond redemption, and no night is too dark for God’s light to shine through.

Today, we celebrate not just an event, but a promise fulfilled. The empty tomb speaks of love that conquers all, grace that never fails, and a Savior who lives within us. Because He lives, we are given a new beginning, a fresh start, and a renewed faith that carries us through every challenge we face.

Let this Sonrise fill your heart with peace, joy, and unshakable hope. May you walk in the light of His resurrection, knowing that you are loved, forgiven, and never alone. Jesus Christ is alive—and because of Him, we are alive in faith, purpose, and everlasting hope.

He is risen! ✝️

Today, we celebrate the victory of life over death, hope over despair, and light over darkness. May this Easter Sunday remind us that no matter how difficult the journey is, there is always a promise of new beginnings and endless grace. Let our hearts be filled with joy, faith, and gratitude for the blessings we continue to receive each day.

As we embrace this beautiful day, may love, peace, and renewal fill our homes and lives. Just like the resurrection, may we rise above our struggles stronger and more faithful than ever. Wishing everyone a meaningful and blessed Easter Sunday—may your hearts be as full as the empty tomb. 🌸✨

Black Saturday is a solemn reminder of silence, waiting, and reflection.

Today, we pause in stillness, remembering the sacrifice and holding on to faith—even in the quiet moments.

May this day teach us patience, strengthen our hope, and prepare our hearts for the joy of resurrection.

The Cotabato State University – Christian Students Community, together with Ms. Helen Betito, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), participated in the Solidarity Iftar and Civil Society Organization (CSO) Reflection Session on the Tri-People Peace and Development Agenda (TPPDA) on March 6, 2026, at Crystal Hall, KDT Manor Hotel in Cotabato City. The event was organized by the Tri-Peace/Tri-People Movement and Social Cohesion in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, bringing together leaders from civil society organizations, religious groups, academic institutions, youth sectors, and women’s organizations to promote unity and collaboration for peace and development.

One of the key highlights of the event was the presentation of the proposed “Sacrifice Walk for Peace and Unity,” which will be held during the month of Ramadan as a symbolic act of solidarity among Christian and Muslim communities. The session concluded with a solidarity Iftar sponsored by UNDP, providing participants an opportunity to share a moment of reflection and reaffirm their collective commitment to fostering dialogue, unity, and sustainable peace across the Bangsamoro Region.

BE IN THE KNOW | The Difference Between Fasting and Abstinence

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (no. 1434) teaches that fasting and abstinence are forms of penance that help us convert our hearts, unite ourselves to Christ’s sacrifice, and grow in self-discipline.

Lent is not about dieting — it is about conversion.

1️⃣ Abstinence

a. What it is?
Abstinence means refraining from eating meat.

b. When observed?
• Ash Wednesday
• Good Friday
• All Fridays of Lent

c. Who is obliged?
• Catholics 14 years old and above

Abstinence from meat… is to be observed on Fridays throughout the year unless a solemnity should fall on a Friday (Canon Law 1251). The law of abstinence binds those who have completed their fourteenth year (Ibid 1252).

Important Note:
Fish, eggs, milk, grains, fruits, and vegetables are allowed.

2️⃣ Fasting

a. What it is?
Fasting means limiting the amount of food eaten.

b. How it is practiced?
• One full meal
• Two smaller meals that together do not equal a full meal
• No eating between meals (liquids allowed)

c. When observed?
• Ash Wednesday
• Good Friday

d. Who is obliged?
• Catholics 18 to 59 years old

The law of fasting binds those who have attained their majority, until the beginning of their sixtieth year (Canon Law, 1252 and Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2043 on days of fasting and abstinence).
