The clergy of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Philippines (EDSP) are holding their retreat today, with a special focus on mental health and well-being. As servants of the Church, clergy are not exempt from the pressures, challenges and emotional demands of daily life. They are often exposed to environments and situations that can trigger stress, exhaustion and personal vulnrabilities. This retreat provides an opportunity for reflection, renewal and spiritual strengthening, helping them care not only for others but also for their own mental, emotional and spiritual health. Let us keep them in our prayers as they seek rest, healing and God's guidance in their ministry

Tnx to Prof. Framer Cristy Mella

23 years ago today, a vision was fulfilled, to provide a dignified and peaceful resting place for our beloved loved ones who have gone before us. This sacred place, Lund Memorial Garden stands as a testimony to our Christian hope and belief in the resurrection of the dead and the promise of eternal life.

Today, another vision has been realized as we celebrate the dedication and consecration of The Church of the Risen Lord. This cchurch will serve as a place of prayer, remembrance and worship, reminding us that Christ has conquered death and opened for us the way to everlasting life. As we gather in thanksgiving, we reaffirm our faith in the risen Lord and in His promise that those who believe in Him shall live, even though they die.

"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” - John 11:25

May the Church of the Risen Lord stand as a lasting symbol of faith, hope and the glorious resurrection promised to all God's faithful people.

Empowering the Laity for Ministry and Mission

As the Diocese continues its Mission Expansion Program, the need for more workers in the Lord's vineyard also grows. In response, the Diocese also empowers the laity to serve as Bible Facilitators, Cup Bearers and Eucharistic Ministers, recognizing the baptismal calling of every baptized Episcopalian to proclaim God's Word and lead others closer to Christ. As our Lord said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Luke 10:2).

The Lay Training is currently underway at St. Gregory Aided Parish in Lahangkeb, Upi, Maguindanao, spearheaded by Fr. Joerge Pinera (IMO) and assisted by Bro. Johnny Guilingan. Forty participants are undergoing training and will soon be commissioned by the bishop to serve in their respective ministries..

The Ministry of Teaching is one of the threefold ministries entrusted to us by our Lord Jesus Christ..

With thanksgiving to our Lord, the new school buildings of St. John Episcopal Academy, Inc. will be blessed on June 5, 2026. By God’s grace, the school has grown from simple nipa and sawali structures into concrete, fully air-conditioned facilities that will better serve the learners of Barangay Awang and neighboring communities in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

We invite you to join us in prayer for this blessing and that this institution may continue to be an instrument of Christian education and service to the community.
