𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: April 23–24, 2026 — a gathering of faith, knowledge, and leadership!

The University Muslim Student Organization (UMSO) took part in the Faith-Driven Seminar: Strengthening Religious Values and Leadership Capacities, a two-day program conducted by the University Student Council (USC), in partnership with the Al-Jalis As-Salih Institute (AAI) dedicated to nurturing leaders grounded in Islamic values.

Through meaningful sessions and reflections, participants were reminded that leadership is an amānah (trust), a responsibility that must be carried with sincerity and accountability before Allah ﷻ.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تُؤَدُّوا ٱلْأَمَـٰنَـٰتِ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهَا
“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due…”
(Qur’an 4:58)

The seminar was enriched by valuable insights from the speakers:

• “Leadership requires readiness, especially in times when current leaders step down and the youth are called to take their place.” — Amry S. Datumanong

• “Da’wah is not limited to scholars; it is a responsibility of every Muslim.”
— Abdul Jabbar A. Montañer

• “Three main foundation of leadership in Islam based on the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) are spiritual foundation, unity, and just system and governance.”
— Saiful Islam S. Gayak

These reminders strengthened the commitment of UMSO members to lead with īmān, integrity, and compassion, embodying Islamic values in both leadership and daily life.

May Allah ﷻ guide us to become leaders who serve with sincerity and uphold what is right.

Alhamdulillāh, we are truly grateful that our last Iftar became a meaningful moment to reimplement Iftar Al-Ahbāb which brings together UMSO officers, members, and alumni in one gathering of unity and brotherhood.

May Allah ﷻ accept our fasting, our efforts, and our togetherness throughout this blessed month of Ramadhān.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: A day filled with shared blessings and grateful hearts!

UMSO shared its Ramadan outreach with Markaz Maryam Litahfidhil Qur’anil Kareem Inc., located at Don Cesar St., Poblacion 3, Cotabato City, by providing grocery package, sack of rice, and essential goods.

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 University Muslim Student Organization 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 “𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙍𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙝𝙖𝙣". This program is made 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 by generous donations, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘮 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 the students of 𝘊𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵y.

In a place where the Qur’an is learned and preserved, every form of support becomes part of a greater purpose especially during this month of Ramadhān.

The Prophet (S.A.W) said:
أفضلُ الصدقةِ صدقةٌ في رمضان
“The best charity is the charity given in Ramadhān.”

May Allah ﷻ grant barakah to this effort and reward all those who contributed for His sake.

The University Muslim Student Organization (UMSO) brought smiles to Darul Hanan, located at JITA, Crossing Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, through the distribution of grocery packages and essential goods.

This initiative is a reminder that when we come together as students and as an Ummah, even simple actions can create meaningful change.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَنْفَعُهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ
“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others.”

May we continue to serve and uplift one another, especially in this blessed month of Ramadhān.

In this blessed month, giving is more than an action—it is an intention rooted in sincerity and faith.

Allah ﷻ says:

لَن تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ
“You will never attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love.”
— Qur’an 3:92

May every contribution be accepted and multiplied in reward.

Serving orphaned children reminds us of a special promise from the Prophet ﷺ:

أَنَا وَكَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ هَكَذَا
“I and the one who cares for an orphan will be in Paradise like this.”
— Sahīh al-Bukhārī

May this simple effort bring comfort to their hearts and barakah to everyone who took part in this initiative.

UMSO Joins 4th Balik Islam Iftar in a Night of Faith and Sisterhood at Al-Jālis As-Ṣāliḥ Islamic Center in Cotabato City

On March 16, Al-Jālis As-Ṣāliḥ, Inc. (AAI), in partnership with UMLADI, hosted the 4th Balik Islam Iftar at the Islamic Center in Cotabato City. Sisters, especially Balik Islam sisters, shared heartfelt stories of faith, followed by breaking fast together, reflection by Ustadza Nur-Ainee Tan Lim, and an engaging Q&A.

The University Muslim Student Organization (UMSO) participated through Cotabato State University’s University Student Council, reflecting a commitment to inclusive leadership and community support.

More than a gathering, it was a celebration of unity, compassion, and the beauty of guiding hearts to Islam.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The believers, in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion, are like one body. When one part of the body suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim

“None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim

May this gathering inspire continued brotherhood, sisterhood, and devotion within our Ummah🤍

Assalāmu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh 🤍

Alhamdulillāh, by the mercy and permission of Allah ﷻ, the “Ma Jalis Ilm and Iftar” was successfully conducted through the collaboration of the University Muslim Student Organization (UMSO) and the Muslim Youth Religious Organization (MYRO-CotSU).

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

مَنْ فَطَّرَ صَائِمًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِ الصَّائِمِ شَيْئًا
“Whoever provides food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like his, without decreasing the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.”
— Jāmi at-Tirmidhi

May Allah ﷻ accept the efforts of everyone who contributed, supported, and participated in making this gathering possible. May He reward your generosity and allow us to continue serving the Ummah with sincerity.

In the blessed month of Ramadhān, a time of mercy, reflection, and togetherness, the University Muslim Student Organization (UMSO) in collaboration with Muslim Youth Religious Organization (MYRO-CotSU) gathers the Muslim students and members of the university community for "Ma Jalis Ilm and Iftar” — a moment of learning, reflection, and breaking our fast together.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

إِذَا أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ عِندَكَ فَلْتُصَلِّ عَلَيْكَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ
“When a fasting person breaks his fast with you, the angels pray for you.”
— (Sunan Abī Dāwūd)

And the Prophet ﷺ also said:
مَن سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ
“Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.”
— (Sahih Muslim)

May this Majlis of knowledge and Iftar be a means for us to grow in faith, renew our intentions, and strengthen our unity as one Ummah during this blessed month.

As we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, a month of mercy, forgiveness, and generosity, we humbly knock on your kind hearts to share whatever you can for the sake of Allah (S.W.T).

The Prophet (S.A.W) said:
أفضلُ الصدقةِ صدقةٌ في رمضان
“The best charity is the charity given in Ramadhān.”

Even the smallest amount can mean so much. It can provide food for someone fasting, ease the burden of a family in need, and bring smiles to our brothers and sisters.
