Maulidun Nabi was not celebrated in the early period of Islam.
1. ๐ก๐ผ ๐๐
๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ป๐ฎ๐ต: There is no evidence in the Hadith or Sunnah that the Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ or his Companions celebrated his birthday. Instead, they emphasized obligatory acts of worship and remembrance of Allah through prescribed forms of devotion.
2. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ ๐๐๐น๐ถ๐บ๐ (๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ณ): The Sahabah, Tabiโun (the next generation), and Tabiโ al-Tabiโun (those who followed them) never celebrated Maulid. These three generations are recognized in Islam as the โbest generationsโ based on the Hadith of the Prophet ๏ทบ stating: โThe best of people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them.โ
3. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐น๐ถ๐ฑ: According to Islamic historians, the first recorded celebration of Maulid happened in the 12th century during the Fatimid dynasty, a Shia Ismaili caliphate in Egypt. Their version of Islam differed from that of the earliest generations, and they had a strong influence in spreading this practice, which later spread to different parts of the world.
4. ๐๐ถ๐ฑโ๐ฎ๐ต (๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป): Those who oppose the ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ช๐ก๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฉ ๐ ๐๐ค๐ง๐ข ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐โ๐๐ (religious innovation). Many scholars, especially from later traditions such as the Salafis, warned against introducing new practices that were not part of the original teachings of Islam.
Even the Bangsamoro Darul Ifta has emphasized this reminder to the people that the said holiday is ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐๐ข๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ก ๐ค๐๐๐๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ ๐ค๐๐จ๐๐ง๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐ข.
Thus, this practice did not exist in the earliest period of Islam.
